grand vw beauty
such a strong piece by Bill, and a fitting re-scoring for mellotron, giving it a gritty sparkly texture... nice choice.

Thanks for all the...
...positive commentary.

Richard, I guess I could have just run the original MIDI through the Mellotron soft-synth, but I would have been stuck with only one soft-synth setting for the whole piece. Instead, what I did was record the lead, bass, and string pad as separate MIDI's using different soft-synth voices. Then I rendered it to an MP3, pulled the resulting MP3 back into the project, added reverb to it, then rendered the whole mess, including both the MIDI's and MP3's, to the final MP3 heard here.

Once again, thanks!

Cheers,
Jim

It was because I ...
...had a new soft synth to try out, had been listening to the Moody Blues, and suddenly remembered the Bell Project.

Thanks a bundle, Karen! You ROCK!

Jim
