Description:
Only to be played when there are no small children around.

Oh, what do I say about this? This started as an instrumental meant to impress (ok, be honest: seduce) a woman. No luck. Then Computer Music had a cover disc of `female vocal' samples. And that's how I came to write this.

(Hm. I seem to be getting some really low votes. If you're voting low, let me know why?)

Lyrics:
Mmmmmm! Aaahhhh! Ohhhhh! *moan* *sharp intake of breath*

You get the idea.

Hardware:
Mac G5, no external hardware

Software:
PlugSound guitars and drums, Trilogy basses, EVP88 Rhodes.

Samples courtesy of Computer Music magazine are cleared.

I prefer gutteral sounds to spoken words.

Flameno Flair could survive without anything else &mdash 01/18/05 - 08:06:22 PM
This tune has a characteristic flamenco flair to it that I
love and my favorite part was the first key change.

Very well written.

I think that you could do a little more with
the vocable sounds........the moaning and so forth, or you
should get rid of them all together. I think that this piece
of music could do better without the moans and perhaps
with some completely different cover art. I thought by
looking at the cover art, very different about this piece
than it actually sounded.

As far as low votes are concerned, you can turn to the
idea that you get back the kind of energy that you put
into this community.

I however did not score you low, because I truly
appreciated many aspects of your music. Too bad that I
have to waste the praise on someone that has been a jerk
to me, but my nature to treat others as I would want to be
treated and fairly critique and comment on fellow
member's work, prevents me from doing anything else.

Sincerely,
MidiMacMan

I'm married..so it brings up..um..distant memories :)
I was entertained so all esthetics aside that rates high
scores. Also like the bass line.

"Distant memories"? Well, consider the fact that I have plenty of time to write
these tracks. Add to that the title of the piece.......

Thanks for the compliments.

Musically...very fine &mdash 02/10/05 - 12:50:45 AM
I think there is an iTunes radio station that features this
sort of adult fare - sorta like a reality soap opera. I don't
know, maybe the splendid instrumentation should be
conjoined with something more poetic or abstract --
these "female sounds" are too literal. Production-wise, I
am amazed how well the strong bass line comes across
without causing distortion. You have created a wonderful,
full-bodied soundspace.

Female Loops? &mdash 02/14/05 - 12:44:13 PM
How's a guy supposed to get anything done around here?
Um.....being Valentines Day and all...never mind. In any
case, the soundscape is cool, the orgasmic voice is too
over the top. This song could be a 'between the sheets'
kind of tune...with candlelight, wine, etc. with smooth
etherial harmonies in the background, without any
moaning.

I like the idea, the music, and ya, the voice (who wouldn't)
but gentler is key IMHO.

Hope my wife gets home soon.

Some get it... &mdash 02/16/05 - 12:25:51 PM
some don't. Kinda roll the dice on a tune like this and I
appreciate the guts it takes to put it out there. The vocal
samples are only "over the top" if that's how a listener
interprets it. I personally think sensuality is an extension
of natural emotion. Therefore, it is an element that is right
at home in music. It is a smooth, sexy, mature song that I
enjoyed listening to. Thx. 4 x 8

That's how I look at it. It's in the eye (ear? mind!) of the beholder.

This is far from a porn soundtrack. The vocals are pretty minimal. On the
other hand, it's pretty clear what they allude to, so you do have to be
comfortable with that. It took me a bit of soul searching but in the end I
decided "what the heck".

Generally I like it &mdash 03/02/05 - 11:56:12 AM
Great atmosphere. Cool bass. I liked the moans, etc (Good actress!?). I didn't like the sound/style of the keyboard. Sounded like a toy piano/synth. Too casio-like. Got better at the end. OVerall good idea. Thanks for your comments on my stuff, by the way.

she came in the mail? &mdash 03/10/05 - 01:15:55 PM
The samples are good, but not as smooth and sensual as
say, Enigma's... and I have been told that what arouses us
guys doesn't necessarily arouse women. Maybe you could
try this pick-up line: "Hi, I'm writing some music to appeal
sensually to women, could you help me determine some
key elements in music and sounds?" (evil grin.) Ahem,
anyway, the music is nice and soft, good fireplace music.
The final "wow, that really was great" at the end of the
song, almost sounds like she could be saying that about
the song itself... which makes the listener wonder if you
are "patting yourself on the back"... not your intent at all,
but it was one of the myriad thoughts that hit me as I
listened. If I were to rework it, I would remove the talking
sections, and just have the moans, soften them back a
little, increase them a little near the end, but otherwise
leave it as is. And maybe think of it as a guy-arouser, not
a girl arouser :-) I have no problems with this kind of
music, I think it is a nice blending of sensual
experiences... but I think smooth sensual music is harder
to achieve than people might think. My personal favorite
is "Mea Culpa", from Enigma's MCMXlvmnopwhatever
album.

Drakonis

Hmmm.. &mdash 03/12/05 - 03:34:25 AM
I reeeeally like the instrumentals...its a pleasing tune.
However, it could probably stand on its own without the
moans and groans fromt the lady - but maybe thats just
my feminist side coming out! No, really, I loved the whole
melody, just not keen on the sound FX. Good stuff.

Maybe you and Drakonis have a point: what is sexy to a man is not
necessarily so to a woman.

I've been thinking of extending the instrument part of this tune. If I can find a
good blues guitarist to play some licks over this.

Ah man, feminism don't preclude eroticism. Equality for the sexes I say!
Woman should be able to talk like that without fear of repercussions. I want a
woman that has a decent command of bedroom banter.

Besides, the voice actress just does that for fun. She used to be the CEO of a
highly successful printer company.

Low Scores &mdash 04/10/05 - 08:23:12 PM
Because people are prudes or because you cropped th
picture in the wrong place Take your pick!. :)

Where did you get the sounds?

My only "dislike" is the drums overpower it a bit, and the
bass seems high too. It also doesn't have the variety I'm
used to from you.

You really don't need seduction to work out with this. Just
need a box of tissue and some time alone. What? Huh?
Man, looks like I forgot to log out again!

One gorgeous fantasy! &mdash 04/12/05 - 04:58:01 PM
Very sensual, very beautiful, can't believe it didn't get you
laid!

Very smooth bass line.

It's an excellent mix but, for libidinal purposes, mix the
bass way up and try for the Harley Davidson effect!

Hi Vic. It's great when to two people take the same set of samples and
turn them into completely differnet songs - though I think you could have
used a few more the vocal samples. Great groove. Very sensual.
