Description
Panzer Masto is what the local kids call the curfew song.
This is intended to be an encore for the band I play with.
the chorus melody is lifted from the curfew song -
also known as yuuyake koyake. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPRgElLVDEI

Lyrics
Time for you to go back home. Run back quick and leave your friends alone. Hear Panzer Masto and obey. Nearly dark and you should get back, those who don't will end up smoking crack. Heed Panzer Masto and obey.
Hear my words for all the kids who'll cut short playing out. Enjoy yourself until you're twelve then learn to live without any sort of childish pleasures or to play outside. It seems to me that half your lot are close to suicide.
Nine o'clock and you can't go home. The boss is there and yet you're all alone. Forget Panzer Masto and escape. Sixty-five and you can't go back and now you wish that you had smoked that crack. Chop up Panzer Masto and escape.
You lot here watching us seem to be alright. You may as well go on home, the next band aren't very good.

Moving
along nicely.... really does trundle along like a medium pace train. You always have your own individuality about your songs. Excellent lyrics too; enjoyed, regards M

Panzer Masto
Wtf? Sounds like an armoured vehicle of German origin !? Oddly compelling but odd in a good way...as ebver with your quirkiness and driving delivery.

Hey you didn't sing what the last line is written as !! 80)

Fascinating glimpse into a culture that is strange to me. I like the variations in pace.
Strumed clean channel guitar is cool.

cool concept for an encore
rhythm grabs you right away, really like the chord changes. melancholy but with a great groove. also really like the cartoonish break, that's genius.

anti-utopian ideals
Every culture has its weird aspects... and it seems that you are illuminating the seedy underbelly of Japanese workaholic suppressed-childhood dysfunction... as always a well-crafted pop-protest song from you, with a very sharp message, and a silly non-sequiter smirk at the very end. sadly apropos.

Blasting
Catchy tune ... and your usual great conception, both as a stand-alone song (the evils of obeisance) and as a piece to wrap up the evening (screw the next band, you might just as well go home) ... all done with a killer guitar attack. Good stuff!

I'm not sure I understand the last verse (not the tail end - I get that). Is it meant to jump forward in time, detailing the regrets of old age for those that have led a compliant existence? So chop down the panzer masto while you're young and smoke that crack? Well, that's how I'm reading it.

I'm wondering, will be you blasting out the curfew siren when concluding your concert set?

A bizarre concept
Perhaps we should have a curfew time for kids as well.

A unique take on something quite odd. Great twisted lyrics;-) (the next band are .... he he!)

Cheers

Your voice
reminds me of Dan Bejar -- it's got a very wry feel to it. This is very brit-pop, and brit-pop is awesome. This is a great fusion of two divergent indie traditions (half Montreal-scene, half British), and I really like it. Nice!

Hey
Really neat.
Quick pace really drives this on and your vocals are always top. Love the la la la section too. A very nice break from the pacey rhythm.
Nice one again
