Thanks Jim
I was messing around with this for about a month, maybe two, and decided to post it in case it got Someone's interest for writing lyrics and singing to it. But I guess Someone isn't online right now so I'll just have to wait till they are.

Glad you enjoyed my little attitude adjuster, Jim. Thanks again for listening.

Hey Mark,
what's wrong with that title. Everything living is also dying, true ?

Like I said, the title was and is a placeholder. Might be someone out there that could do lyric and a vox to this. We'll see !

Be well my friend, and be cool,

Cool little diddy there Ed. As you know from my last post, I can totally relate to your need to let it out once in a while, and besides, a little self indulgence never really hurt anyone! I enjoyed the listen - thanks!

Fun
Bass. Really liking the bass work with the splash of keys. Very cool guitar work.
My fave parts of the beastie boy albums was the funky instrumentals. This reminds me of those moments.
Cool stuff

Thank Ted
Being the old coot I am, I don't think I've ever heard anything by "The Beastie Boys", unless it just happened to pass over the radio dial in my truck. That said, I'm still glad it brought them to mind for you as it's a sign I may have actually done something right on this one.

Thanks again for listening and the very kind words Ted, they are much appreciated.

kevmikwa said 2574 days ago (November 3rd, 2010)
Very intrigued
As a drum guy, you've got some very cool textures here. The instrumentation of your rhythm section is somewhat of a mystery. I mean, I hear typical kit drums, but then I hear a tom-driven thing on top and then there's this trebly shaker-type sheen over the whole bit - sounds kinda like an elastic typewriter of sorts. How'd you get that sound? What instrument is that?

I will admit that when I hear a looped part make a number of appearances in a song (like the timbale roll near the beginning), I start to get a little distracted. Of course, I do understand that you are cobbling together your rhythm section from loops, so I am in touch with the limitations there.

I like your choice of delay on the rhythm guitar track, it keeps the whole thing chugging along. The ending was kind of abrupt, but I certainly can understand that when a self-proclaimed self-indulgent jam is rolling along.

I must say it was also very nice to finally have met you since seeing your post on Dick's "Skype - talk to me?" convo. Here's to chatting again sometime soon!
sloparts said 2574 days ago (November 3rd, 2010)
Hi Mike
It was great talking to you yesterday.

That sound you are wondering about is a loop called "Seed 01" and I think it's in the Apple Rhythm Section JamPack. The actual author of the sound is "Perimeter Sound Arts" though, so I could be wrong about it being an Apple Loop.

That Tom thing is actually a series of fills from all kinds of different drum sets in the Rhythm Section Jampack. It's almost a continuous track of fills from one end to the other layered on top of the other drums to spice everything up and heat up the rhythm section.

Thanks for listening Mike, and the great comments. It is appreciated.

Be well and be cool, my friend

Hello Maurice
I don't know a bout being a "Top C/W" artist, or any other kind for that matter, but I do like to have fun and trying different things. Sometimes I stumble blindly into one that's worthwhile, but not all that often.

Still, if you enjoyed the track, that's good enough for me. Thanks for the kind words on my friend.

One thing about Jammin', John
It's easy to do in the studio when you can comp tracks, but a little more difficult when you have to do it all live. Still, it is always fun when you're jammin' with friend as I was reminded down at the Texas meet up in July. For the rest of my days, I'll smile a big smile whenever I think of the wonderful time we had there at Jack Hemby's house.

Thanks for stopping to listen John, and for the very kind words.
