Description

With the economy so bleak, I thought I'd brush off this old tune that Irving Berlin wrote back in the late 1920s to give the folks living during the Great Depression a little smile and perhaps a little something to dream about. Sorry for being so "active" lately (although I see people posting three songs a day, so what the hell!)

I'm still trying to remember how I got my voice this deep--I think I stayed up all night sitting stark naked in front of the air conditioner and smoked 2 cases of Kools--I honestly don't recall the circumstances now! Lyn, as always, you are such a sweetheart and much too good to me! Sometimes when I'm recording at the very end of the day, I find my pitch is a bit deeper (this is normal by the way--most peoples' voices do drop a bit as they day wears on)--I recorded this at 4:17 AM so I was way down there! Yes, it is an interesting title (but then again, the word "groovy" goes back to the late 1930s too!) Thanks again--and take care now, Michael

Glad you liked this--I have another version that is lighter and with some more variation in the phrasing department, but I'll slap that up some time in the future (in some ways, I think that was the better approach on this song, but yanno, I never let anything go to waste!)
