Brandenburg Synthony #2

Description
Wendy Carlos meets the Swingle Singers. This started out 30 years ago on an Apple ][ with a couple of ALF music cards in it. When MIDI came along, it became a MIDI file for my Casio CZ101 to play, and has been tinkered with many times. When GarageBand '11 came along, I dragged the MIDI over to it and tweaked some more. So this is old music in the computer sense as well as the baroque sense. No matter what you do him, Bach sounds alive and harmonious, so this seemed like a good piece to introduce myself.

Thanks!
It takes me a while to polish a song. Fluffalarium likes to play the keyboard too, but his melodic and harmonic sensibilities are beyond my ken.

similarities
Ah, the name dropping here warms my TTL, but we have moved on, as the rolling stones gathered no CMOS. I too grew up on Walter/Wendy, dabbled with Deluxe Music Construction Set on my Apple +][, owned a CZ101, built oscillators in the garage, etc. This is a great deal of work, and a lot of fun, mirth every second of it. Welcome to Macjams, thank you for sharing this magnum opus. I look forward to more enjoyable blips from you.

Ow! They hurt!
Puns are a lost art...

This is probably the magnissimum opus I'll submit. Further blips are in process. Whether they are more enjoyable I can't say. Perhaps I'll post one that GarageBand and I are fighting over and seek help.

A real swingle-y synthony!
Great fun, and how fabulous that you have been able to keep the digital files going for so long. I have a few old tunes that I'm sure will never be heard again.

Welcome aboard, and I hope you enjoy. Cheers.

Old tunes
Keeping digital files is a real challenge. When MIDI came along, I had to write a translator to make MIDI from the ALF files and play them through the CZ101. When I got my 128K Mac, I captured the "performance" via MIDI, and it's been transferred to each new Mac in turn.
