Description
Several weeks ago I asked Gaylen if he would like to sing on one of my songs. To my elation he agreed. I didn’t have a song written yet so I asked him if he preferred up tempo or down tempo. He replied that he would like something to challenge him.
I came up with this. I don’t know if it was a challenge for him but I know it was a challenge for me.
I wasn’t quite sure what genre this falls under. It has elements of Metal, Rock, Ballad, and Progressive. I kind of figured it feels like modern day progressive to me.
I had a lot of fun with this because I wrote the song with Gaylen’s vocals in mind. Boy did he ever deliver!

Lyrics
I will speak now to the joys of my prison
And the knowledge of what tomorrow will bring
To the gray aptitude of concrete decisions
Of loyalty to the choices I have made
These walls gather me in and hold me firmly
To the humility of my convictions
To the infamy of my venomous character
To the flames of my perdition
When the night comes
I have no shame
Not voiced to polished steel
there are no confessions
Self-imposed for the safety of those
Whose esteem would have me
Who would parole me
you know theres a vindication owed me
Who would judge me with hooded eyes
who would look through filtered eyes
When the night comes
I have no shame
Not voiced to polished steel
there are no confessions
This closet door
keeps out the would be light
A rectangle of clarity
and its edited by me
A scent foiled by sweat and mothballs
A coffin of hangers
A final resting place
for my jurors mind
so i fooled congregation
because they dont know I come out at night
theres no stopping me now
