Description
A funky piece with slide guitar - loop based and recently remixed and edited. An older piece of mine that I sort of like. Changed the drums a bit and modified the horn parts more to my liking.

Bluesy and Funky!
Nice mix of Genres. I dug it!

I think if you got some old recording of delta blues and sampled the throughout the song it would add a lot. Or maybe even a sample of John Lee Hooker singing.

Love it though.

Groovy, baby!
Very nicely done.

Just one thing: the second slide loop (the one that starts
with a half-beat pause) is not rhythmically independent
enough of the bass, which also hits the one-*and*. I'd use
a different bass riff for that one.

But this is a well though out composition. Flows very
nicely.

Pure oldlibmikeÆ.

Great combo of styles. Nice break out towards the
end. Flows well and retains form in spite of
everything going on;you mixed it efficiently. They
may be loops, but they're good and well arranged
and produced. Moving tune. Kill the fake horns in
spots, unless you can figure out a way to make them
sound "more real". At that point I'd say this was a
smackdown in shantytown. The Nice%u2122 bass pops on
the intro just don't deserve fake horns (try
converting the same notes to a vintage analog
organ).
If it is repetitive, it's cause that riff was good and it
needed to be played twice, or even three times.
There is a half way decent tone horn part at 3/4
through, right before that crazy bass breakout. God
it would be so frikkin cool if you had access to a real
team of brass players. Jeeper's crow, dude you can
lay out songs good, if you only had access to a whole
room of session players to recreate your looped
compositions. It woulld crank, spank, and reek like
the dank!

Thanks for the comments! I will have to look for some better horn riffs. I
actually used to play trumpet but no decent recording equipment here so I'll
have to go searching. I assume you refer to the first horn riffs to come in -
they are the cheesier of the ones I've used. I'll have to experiment.

Party in a box
Great set of loops. What fun. When you have a good ear,
GB is like a party. But recognizing the loops takes away a
bit from the cleverness factor. Still, a great fun track.

Thanks
Thanks for the feedback. Like any looped piece, the good loops tend to get used alot so I guess it sounds familiar. I keep trying to mix in a bit more performance...bit of a talent wall there for me to scale!
