Description
Written when I moved to Cumbria - I never cycled up the Wrynose pass yet but my dad must have been a fit bugger judging by the photos Ive seen of it.I wrote it as 'Rhinoes pass' cos he'd talked about it alot, and i just heard the word rhino.Maybe some day I'll cycle up it.Anyhow these lanes round here are full of ice and snow and time and pubs,so thats what its about.
The picture I painted in watercolour and attempted to sell on ebay for exactly one million pounds...just an idea I had at the time....no buyers, but plenty of interest lol.Think its still in the cellar in Lancashire..

Lyrics
Jack Frost
Jack Frost went leaping
In forests sleeping
Weaved circles around my song
One Winters night
By firefly lanterns
We crossed the mountains
And came into a tavern
On the Wrynose* Pass
How high the moon am I
Spring will awaken by and by
Green grow the rushes-O
When the valleys sing below
How high the moon am I
Spring will awaken by and by
Green grow the rushes-O
When the valleys sing below
Father Time came weary
And lay upon the snow
And in his eyes there flickered flames
Of a 1000 empires slain
He says your learning
He sees you turning
He rolls you down through history
And back again
How high the moon am I
Spring will awaken by and by
Green grow the rushes-O
When the valleys sing below
How high the moon am I
Spring will awaken by and by
Green grow the rushes-O
When the valleys sing below
* sang as 'Rhino's' pass as this is what I heard my father saying he'd cycled up many times,i didnt know it was spelt wrynose.
