Lyrics
Blue eyes in the pouring rain
Told you don't come round here again
But deep in my mind theres a flame burning hot and bright

In a storm you pledged your love
swore to the gods above
But now can't you see, you've left it me to make it right.

Why don't you fight? Why won't you fight?

The savage in my mind,
Whispers thoughts that are so unkind
Why can't give me, why can't you show me a sign?

My quickly burning life
reflected in this mirror knife
Offer to bleed for, all in the need for a sign

A thousand candles, and a million prayers
Won't erase these earthly cares
I can't accept this, that death is the end of this life

Speak the words and spill the blood
Lay together in the running mud
I'll trade my soul for a chance that your whole in this life

The savage in my mind,
Whispers thoughts that are so unkind
Why can't give me, why can't you show me a sign?

My quickly burning life
reflected in this mirror knife
Offer to bleed for, all in the need for a sign

Mike trouble.
Wanted to add that i don't have a mike other than the onboard one, and no matter where i stood or adjusted the levels, i overwhelmed it at times. If anyone can help me out with that, I wouldn't mind dong a re-take on the piece. I also have the working track, for someone to master if they'd like.

Too kind
Thanks for the comments! I only wish I could have recoded the vocals better. This piece would be kick-ass with a live crew who could improvise the drums etc..

Crazy contrasts
I was expecting a trippy vocal style but got a grunge thing instead, nice twist...the arrangement is working for me too. Where did you get the sitar instrument? I like it and wish I had one.

Thanks for the dl :)

Whoah!
That's some hypnotic music behind those dirty, grunge lyrics. I felt like I'd been snake charmed. Totally spell binding piece. Thanks.

Power
Is what I used to do best when i played with live crews. I just can't seem to get the arrangements right though without people to play them for me, so I've avoided this genre for a while. Maybe it's time to return to it.

this works well
The instrumentation choice with the vocal approach is working so well.

Good one!

damn!
Man, that voice outta nowhere KILLS, mate! Seriously good stuff. Great ending. It might just be the pressure in my ears from the flight making me wonky, but I hear a lot of odd panning of the bass frequencies, it's rather unsettling.

Kills?
Awesome. Love that reaction. Dunno about the panning. I didn't notice any when I was doing it, but it might be there anyway. it is is, it's unintentional.

Sitar
Is different and so immediately exotic, i couldn't resist trying it out as a lead instead of a guitar.

You could always claim
that the distortion is deliberate. It fits well with the dark mood. Unique choice of instruments, but very effective, reminiscent of the Beatles.

Something different...
Hi Adam. You have achieved your goal. Central Asian grunge has to be a new music style. The sitar is sounding fantastic and then those wailing vocals kick in and it turns threatening and edgy. Really interesting post. Thanks, Peter.

Curry
Indian music is neat, but can be difficult to work with since it has a lot of odd little sharps, flats, and grace notes. I'm going to have to explore it some more.

Adam, where and why were you hiding your aggressive vocals? I dig them, hope this is a first of many more to come. Dig the music too, very cool!

Hard to record
I need a good mic, but gots no money. It's hard to record the wildly swinging sound levels and I'm a rank novice at the tech end of things.

Love the music. Great singing but you really need to get a decent mic, lots of distortion going on at the moment.

Wow!
This IS different, for me. Great lyrics, but your vocals are special. I don't know what you'd like different but the anger, pain, emotion squeezing through that small opening without lubrication fit this perfectly, to my ears.
Wow!
