Description

Kilimanjaro is a riff based song that I wrote while taking a break from recording on a another project...funny how that happens sometimes. Being a bassist, I always think in terms of the groove first and foremost. As we all know, groove is king but in most cases that is not enough to fill the sonic space needed to make a good song. That's where guys like Paddler and Sigmund come in...What more can you ask for than to have these two monster players contribute their musicianship and ideas to your project? I have been very fortunate in my life to play with some really phenomenal players and these two guys are as good as it gets! Thank you so much Richard and Sig for your contributions and feedback, I am looking forward to the next one!

Mt. Kilimanjaro as always been a mysterious magical wonder for me, I have been intrigued by it since I was 8 yrs old. I hope that you enjoy our collaboration and thanks for listening.

I fanned and downloaded before hitting play. I mean with the combination of talents here how could this not be great. And you had me at the bass intro! What great slap chops you have. Of course Rich and Sigmund totally rocked while impressing with their amazing chops.

The piece is amazingly well written and the mix and production are flawless. Congratulations gents and thanks for the download!

that this is downloadable. I agree, groove is King and this had shloads of it, and as you say there is also enough other things going on to keep the song legit and not just a groove wank session. Wonderful all around. Great sound and a super lively mix. Lots going on but I can hear everything and focus in on what I want to listen to at any given point.

I have been looking at articles online, reading books etc and I think it did show on this mix. It also helped to have Sigmund take a final listen and eq tweak before the release. To make a power trio out of you three is like playing in a fantasy football league for music. Except in that league, there's no way that you three are on the same team because nobody gets to have the first, second and third picks overall. Honestly, you guys are simply the best at what you do and bringing these talents together makes the groove exponentially better. I'll echo and extend magnatone's sentiment: it's a miracle that we all get to know each other and collab together as we do. Truly an enlightened time we live in.

I think I'm with folks like Reggie_Pole and PeterB7858 in that I'd like to hear it with a real drummer. Truthfully, it might just be to hear exactly what you've programmed here rendered with some slightly better drum sounds.

Up-tempo jams may not be as in my wheelhouse as the slower grooves are, but I do hope we get a chance to play together soon.

i love how it starts, i love the bass guitar it sounds so [fucking] awesome. the guitar riff at 2:xx did it to me it's my favorite part in that song.

Quality tunage
Some awesome bass riffing here from the outset! Really enjoyed this - stellar tweedling from Sigmund as always but ever a pleasure to listen to! Initially I thought the keys didn't quite mix with the harder edge of the song, but on reflection, I was dead wrong. Sits in there nicely! Great tune. Defo DL. Thanks for sharing it.
