Description
one day, quantum physics will find a solution to ‘the measurement problem’. in the meantime, all you need is love….love, and internet porn.
the sampled voice you hear on this track is nobel prize-winning physicist murray gell-man. I found a clip of him on youtube, held my laptop up to the mic and hit play/record. I thought it would be crap….but he turned out perfect. I didn’t even have to drag it around in GB in order to find a suitable place for it….it just landed where it landed, and where it landed sounded just the place for it. what’s even more interesting (is this interesting?) is that his ‘um’ was the identical pitch of my tune. I mean what are the chances of that? hurrah for parallel universes.
I sent an earlier version of this to steve ‘tokai’ west which he grooved up a feast and then posted as ‘theory’. I then carried on with the original and added some looped drum and electric piano riff, plus live bass and percussion sounds which I played on my ancient Korg M1 (c.1988). I had to do it live because I couldn’t work out how to synchronise the midi…yawn yawn yadda-yadda.
the artwork is Mandelbrot's fractal.
schrodinger’s cat did not die in the making of this (nobody observed it dying).
here’s the clip of murray gell-man on youtube.

Lyrics
the more you know, you ride ‘em slow
the more you know, you ride ‘em slow.
in theoretical science a new idea may permit us
to alter or extend the body of theory
Um…um….um….um…..the body of theory
our love is strong enough
the more you know, you ride ‘em slow.
in theoretical science a new idea may permit us
to alter or extend the body of theory
Um…um….um….um…..the body of theory
our love is strong enough
