Camphorwood flute This is really outstanding in all aspects. Both the production and playing are exceptionally good. My favorite parts are the rapid arpeggios with the flute. That is very gripping, at least to me. The long scales are nicely done as well which shows that you have some really great skill at this instrument. The room and reverbe on the flute seems to make the notes hang for a bit. That is a cool effect. The bass stands out nicely too; it keeps a very nice groove driving the song. I'm glad that I dropped by. Check out my latest song called A Friend to the End

I took this in with an eagerness Lately, I've been thinking about your playing, which I got to experience down in Texas, and I wish all our fellow MacJammers could see you play. You have a special gift, Victor. This music here is more proof of that. I have a tune I'd like you to hear, and hopefully, if you have the time and interest, you'll throw a few crumbs my way. This is a keeper. Thanks for the D/L. Peace. Terry Check out my latest song called Lacy / w davisamerica, awigze, Sisters & rok41

always enjoy your eclectic mix of electronics and indigenous instruments. the percussion sounds great, was that independence? Check out my latest song called yes you told me (that you're cynical)

Percussion The drums are Stylus RMX, the (somewhat subtle) tablas are a soundfont. I should really have done those from Independence. As it is, Independence is supplying a bunch of guitars (only in the beginning) various strings, acoustic and electric pianos, flutes, oboes, french horns and trombones. I'm particularly pleased with the winds section. Check out my latest song called Fourth Candle

It's pretty ... Good.... But I for one think that the flute is way to spiritual for this type of music.... Your talent in playing is very tasteful, I must say but it's like trying to fit a round peg into a square hole.... That's just me being part Native American..... And that may mean nothing to most.... Peace.... Check out my latest song called When You Are Here...With/ Patricia Edwards..

Where no flute has gone before. I really appreciate your honest comments. I have a bunch of tracks with Native American flutes (go to my profile page and you find a link to my CD) which are more traditional, though still a bit beyond Nakai and such. This is the first track with a NAF that I didn't put in the Native American category. As I was uploading it I realized "This can no longer be considered as having anything to do with Native American music; this is simply a Victor track played on a Native flute". If I tell you that I had a pang of conscience, will you let me keep this track? And Native American culture does have a meaning for me. Considering that the history of the Native Americans is one continuous disgrace on the Spanish/English/French/Germans/whoever settled in North America, in general I try to maintain a healthy respect for that culture. Even this track was not meant disrespectfully. Ok? Check out my latest song called Fourth Candle

Great Great how the song develops, I love the rhythm. It is a kind of laid back and going forward at the same time. And the flute is fantastic... Difficult to play? Thank you for sharing! Greetings, Bernd Check out my latest song called Night Theme

difficult.... The Native American flute is a very limited instrument: ranger barely over an octave, and feels happiest when it's playing pentatonically. I'm slowly working on working beyond those limitations. I think it came out fairly nicely in this case. Check out my latest song called Fourth Candle

Stylus RMX is an awesome piece o software. It was used a lot on my pop version of "Unable". I want to get it soon. This piece is great. You are jammin at the end there. Wow, some serious chops. Such a peaceful sound that instrument makes. Soothing. Love this. No brainer download. One of your best. love that stuff on the flute. seriously! traditional Well, I have a CD's worth of (somewhat) more traditional flute music. I don't really consider this track to be "native american flute music". More "music with a native american flute.... But yeah, I should balance this out with something slightly more traditional. Check out my latest song called Fourth Candle

I do like to hear instruments taken out of their comfort zone and stretched into performing that is probably not suited to their nature but made to work by a combination of talented playing and understanding of the instrument and its origins.Great job on this and did you not get a little light headed from the camphor wood fumes.....my mother has a forty odd year old camphorwood chest from Singapore and it is powerful enough to clear your sinusses when you open it up...great smell. Anyhoo, great work,Cheers Jarvo Check out my latest song called laundromat blues

Nice jam Lovely floaty sounds over a wash of synth - a combination which is always in danger of sounding bland - but you've navigated your way around that particular obstacle with the sheer variety of improv. Is it all one take? I like the breath at the end - like at the end of Beyonce's Single ladies video!!! Great. Check out my latest song called Melif

breath Thanks for the compliments. The improvisation is a couple of solos glued together. Some stretches are longer, others shorter. That breath was unintended, but when I heard it I decided to keep it. It's like I'm saying "phew! that's over!" Check out my latest song called Fourth Candle

This has... ... a very spacey AND natural feel to it, if that makes sense. I don't know why but it brings MJ artist 'legato' to mind. There's a jazz fusion touch here; I can hear some slick guitar licks along your flute melody. I dig the high quality of your work, Vic! :) Check out my latest song called (An Untitled) Intro

...the picture is a little disturbing (unless that's you, in which case it's a fine picture). =) A great blend of instrumentation here. i love hearing songs that use unlikely combinations of instruments. You make this one work well. I also like the interplay between the flute and the "lead" synth.
Thanks for posting.
