Description
i did this song a long time ago and never cared for the mix, so I just did a re-mix to see if it's worth saving. the old version had some cheesy psychedelic flange effects on the backups and I really wanted to lose them and I think the drums are better now.

Such a great song !
Can't tell why, some parts reminded me of Beatles. I think this is a great mix, you're one of my favorite singers at MJ Michael, I like a lot the way you sung here too.

I remember this one
excellent remix - definitely worth the effort. The drums sound great and the cleaner vox were the way to go. The whole production has beautiful clarity.

I have...
a feeling a ufo will indeed land on earth. Whether or not they'll stay or not is another story.
I really like the easy feeling of this song, and I'm glad you striped the effects off. I will be humming this one at wok today, I can tell. Thanks for posting.

UFO
i just love your voice michael - i know i say that every single time you post a song, but it's true every single time! it is perfect for the music you write, or maybe the music you write is perfect for your voice. love this song, nice remix - so glad you did it!

I've Never Seen A UFO
Terrific melody, and the understated arrangement lets it shine. Vocals/harmonies are spot on, reminiscent of Sgt Pepper era Beatles.

UFOZE
I like this - it has a laid back feel. AND it IS worth saving. The schematic makes sense sort of. Can you build me one of those?

Nice
My only objection is the lyrics. You most likely have seen a "UFO" in the corner of your eye at some point. Once you have actually seen an (alien) spaceship then you know what it is and it is no longer a UFO, is it?

Anyway, nice Beatlish track that I agree should be kept for posterity or maybe for some aliens interested in our humble civilization...

Thanks,
Henke

Do the Beatles come to mind ?
Yes indeed they do. Like the subtle backing and the harmonies. I never heard the original, but I do like this one. I do wish you had posted the lyrics though for us old deaf guys and gals in the crowd. It's sometimes hard to understand everything you're singing. (My bad, the hearing thing, not the mix)

is this
your entry for the producer challenge?

:-)

what an improvement...the original was great, but this version makes it sound general midi-ish

nice one michael

I've Never Seen a UFO
I'm with you. Beam me up. Can't say I heard the original, but this is excellent. I like the stripped down instrumentation. The plucky guitar keeps it motoring along and the slow strum gives it a real late 60's vibe to me. Oh, and thanks for the diagram, I had been wondering where I should put my gravity generators.

You could have been
famous with this in the sixties. It has a lot of period hooks going on. Its' a cool tune and I listened to it a couple of times and the nostalgic woolies at about 2:01. I do feel that it has a little much bass overtone on the master track. I like it enough to take a copy home with me. thanks! Keep on, don't stop till you drop.

Really enjoying this - vocals are great - I definitely hear some early Beatles influence on your singing style, especially on your harmonies. You know how to put a song together very well - nice work -

Worth it.
This was worth the effort of a remix. Nice song with a catchy Brit invasion feel. The simple folk-rock treatment matches the lead vocal nicely.

The lost Beatle?
perhaps, but I hear more Ray Davies - this is very cool Michael - certainly from another time - maybe that UFO is time travelling?

Now I've seen one...
...and it was pretty underwhelming too--just this huge blue rectangular thing heading toward the ocean (and I've been intrigued by these things since I was old enough to read--so this tune very much appealed to me). What also appealed to me is the liquid and stylish vocal presentation (and I'd be remiss in not mentioning the whole thing was excellent really). I remember this style of music growing up (my sister always had music coming out of her bedroom) and I've always been fond of it. You did a very fine job here Michael--to my ears, there's nothing left to improve. Thank you!

Nice
This bad boy pops up on my iPod a lot. Or the previous version, at least. The drums are an improvement, but I'll admit I can't hear the difference in the bg vox. It seems like that little scratchy blips are either gone or buried. Seems there's one at 1:47, but I couldn't find the others. Solid remix on an already fine tune!

Once
I was fishing with a buddy at night, and we thought we saw a formation of angels flying over - it was so fast (we thought) with the apparition darting this way and that, and we couldn't figure out what we saw.

Recently, I was out one night, and saw a flock of geese (?) flying over with the same behavior, and finally I knew...

I really like this mix; simple and clear.

Remix
I remember this one. I was listening to 'let's stare at the sun' yesterday and this song could have been part of it. Even more now, after the remix.
It's interesting how we get better and more critical at mixing with practice. All my songs are in line for a similar treatment for example.

...
I don't remember hearing the original, but I love psychedelic flange effects, so I liked the otherone better, anyways. Good song as usual.

I offered to move to Japan to be in ste's band, but if that don't work out, could i move to LA and be in yours? I mean as long as you aren't wearing your 80's getup, that is. I know you probably kept it pretty original back in the day, but that pic has 'Stooges' covers written all over it.
