Description

_nderscore and I had our baby boy on October 21. Life is pretty perfect.

Maternity leave allowed me a little time to work on this song I've been noodling around with for the last few months. It's not perfect, but lately I've been much more tolerant of "rough". :) Thanks for listening!

New baby, new work
Perfection as a concept is nice, but in reality it tends to be annoying (because it is mostly unreachable) or boring (most music seems to need a little chaos to keep it interesting).

This piece has a wonderful flow to it, with plenty of swirls and eddies to explore. Perhaps it reflects some of the complexity life has acquired with the new addition to your family? Congratulations on that.

Yay, so wonderful to hear from you again (in so many ways)... congratulations again to you and your family on the new little boy... I hear the sound of catching butterflies, the sound of giant cumulous schooners cutting through the Summer sky, the joy of a completed erector set experiment that sets a whirlwind of dominos and marbles in motion, ah, the joys of boys. Love your characteristic music, and glad to see you back!

	Don't sound so rough... Maybe not as finessed as you'd like but I think it adds an edge which I like (actually it doesn't really sound rough at all). So glad you're back with a new post. This song like many of your other tracks has such a soothing, inspiring quality to it. I hope you're playing your music for your family, it creates such a wonderful atmosphere.

Okay, this is cool....
I love the ongoing arpeggiated groove, and how it's decorated with melody, actual melody, and percussion....

I love the vibrato-panned parts, and the way that lines are carried by shifting instruments as this goes along...

Really like that bit that sounds like it was reversed, or reverse reverbed, or just reduced to the reverb. Or something.

I continue to think that you have great taste in synthesized sound, so that the sounds that pop up in your compositions never sound cheesy or bloopy-blippy to me. There are nice bits of texture and fur on so many of these tones....

I am also partial to people's lives being perfect. Well done, you.

Congratulations on your beautiful baby. How wonderful to hear something new from you. I love your sound choices - especially for the drums/percussion. This has a steady, yet not aggressive, beat that allows for total immersion. Beautiful synths and weaving of the different textures in and out of the piece. Overall this just feels GOOD - definitely coming from a "pretty perfect" place. Thank you for sharing that place!

A baby boy? Congrats you guys! Just what you needed... two girls is enough, eh? How are the twins anyway? How are you? Sounds like all is well. It's been a while.

About the music... I am getting a "Never Ending Story" child-like fantasy vibe from it. I like the tapping orchestral middle section which brings a little tension, then back to the main theme.
