Description
This is my favorite song of late here on MJ's, I've listened to it countless times, so I thought i'd give it a go. Thanks to 'ste' for letting me have a chance at it.

As far as what I did. I started with the bass line, then the guitar then vox, then added 3 vox harmonies, then added the techno drums then finally the synth line from symptohm PE. After that, I pretty much re-recorded every instrument over again until I was satisfied. Unfortunately, I only decided to do this challenge today and wanted to get it out there, so I didn't give my ears a chance to rest before I mastered it, so I hope it sounds ok on your end.

Thanks for listening. Please check out the original if you haven't yet, ste is a very unique and original songwriter...

Lyrics
The newborn nymphs drop to the ground where they burrow and live for seventeen years. Slowly growing and no one knowing, underneath the construction, where they will appear. And then one summer, where it's approaching thirty degrees, suddenly, to avoid predation, they will emerge - many eaten by the birds and the bees. They're fucking all over the place in their millions and just for a day they'll fly into my face. Tsuka tsuka boshi.

This has quite an early 80's feel to it. Smooth and brooding. The mix sounds good. Ste is a favourite of mine as well. Cheers mark

80's? synth does that to a song doesn't it? and the 80's atari style drums.

nice job! I was listening to it and was really into it and then it was over... no problem, hit replay. Can relate to this as we had those critters in their 17 year onslaught. I think these were every 7 years - whatever. The vocals and the capture of the tune is grand.

love that synth line
also the chunky rhythm guitar. as the teacher used to say, 'syn-co-pa-tion'. vocals are nicely laid back too, i like the harmonies. this was a great tune from the beginning, tough to improve upon it but i like your take a lot.

I love the layers....
...This never sounds crowded, but, listening over headphones, it seems like there are things in every part of the arc of the stereo spread....

There's a great simple hypnotic feel to this...

I remember this tune in it's original arrangement and I am impressed that you at the very least matched it's magic with your version. Great job on all counts Brian.

You did great.
I think ste is from another planet where people talk in paragraphs with musical backing. This is what one of those people from that planet hears after the same greeting is repeated over and over and gets back to the original wordsmith. A little embellishment here and there but still very ste-ish. Awesome cover, Brian. Thanks.
