Description
A buddy of mine is into the Lovecraft Mythos, so i thought it might be entertaining to take a stab at what a ritual of the Elder gods might sound like....

Thanks
I think that keeping it quiet was the way to go. I like the clandestine furitiveness of the cult in the book. There are wilder celebrations mentioned, but I like the droning in the dark.

But great. Not to many would put this much effort into something so definitly different. Cool stuff.

I love Lovecraft...
I remember getting hooked on his imaginative stories in the late 1980s--could not get enough of them! As a fervid reader of H.P., I greatly enjoyed this--it vividly distills those unseen, unnameable and eldritch (Lovecraft seemed to have loved that word) horrors about us! Thanks again Adam!

Hey!
Great to hear from you. I'm a big fan as well. Though up until know I hadn't taken a serious stab at using this material. Perhaps I'll have to revisit this idea more closely.

Adam
What a total soundtrack this is! I can see the images in my mind. The incantations are particularly intense. The width and depth of this sound bed propel it into the pro realm. If I were a film guy I would be sure to have your # on my speed dial. This is first rate stuff.

Thanks so much!
It isn't often I get yo use THAT part of my vocal repetoire in a quiet piece. usually If I'm being that guttural there is a bunch of wailing guitars going off. I found it surprisingly intense myself when I first listened to to vocal take playback.

I "love" how "crafty" you were on this one... (sorry)
I think this captures the lovecraftian icky dread vibe quite nicely!

Call of Cthulhu
Intense and tribal. The mix is terrific. Sounded huge with the cans on. Awesome restraint, and yet it moves fluidly along so you're quickly immersed. Nice

creepy...
Just chanced on this. Very creepy - like the understated drone. It caught my attention cos I've also done a song with the same name and the same general feel...
