Description

Here's a very different take on Ravens' "Girl on Fire," without the girl. If you missed her version, please give that a listen to see how different it is.

Thanks to Dani for being cool with this, and just being cool. Haste and computer issues forced me to record this very lo-fi: all acoustic guitars and vocals into the internal mic, plus one lonely synth/strings loop. But hey, "I'm just a boy who loves music."

P.S.: This was done for the Cover Challenge.

	Faithful, in a way. Thanks, big brother! I never really approached this thinking how I wanted it to feel, and it came out this way. The guitar really dictated the groove and vibe. To your comment about the added kick at 3:30 or so: I buried a distorted harmonic blast under the word "ignite" followed by some also-fuzzy leads through the end... glad you liked it. Wow, the very first thing I thought in the opening measures of this cover was, "Crash Test Dummies", and I LOVED the Crash Test Dummies back in the early 90s! (Still do). Boy, you are right . . . that is a very different take on Ravens' song . . . cool as heck. A totally different emotion--plaintive and lonely in that delicious way. Love the vocal layering at 3:15. Awesome.
