Archy, did you mean to make the production this harsh? If
not, you might want to pay attention to when the
instrument meters go into the red zone during the course
of the song. A simple fix is to lower the volume on the
instrument. There are more complicated fixes involving
compression/equalisation that I have yet to learn properly
myself.

Yep the effect is a bit harsh , I shall try to alter that but i am not sure what
you mean by 'the red'?

Thanks, Archy

Whoa! Distortion straight ahead! &mdash 01/23/05 - 01:50:20 PM
Not my cup of tea, but I liked it anyway.

However:
1/ The recorder is a very clean sound, so that doesn't
really go with it.
2/ When you restart the bass line halfway through, the
composition loses its sense of architecture.

Just keep up the distortion, and try to find another way to
introduce a lead; cut the whole thing off at 1:30, and Iggy
Pop would have been proud of it.

Thanks! That was a very nice comment, the piece is so sodden with
unoriginality that I am not sure i deserve it......

Hey Quentin! &mdash 01/24/05 - 10:00:32 AM
Tarantino movie score. Help your drums. The
distortion is making my ibook speakers vibrate. Why
did you submit it? It's like the phone rang, and you
walked away. You are onto a nice little fight scene
thing.
If you fix the drums and ass a bass, you might the
same BIG effect. Nice flute idea too, but then you go
wrong.

OK... I'm quite sure you meant to type "add" a bass, but you got me wondering.
If "ass a bass" really were a colloquealism to just what in the heck sort of
behavior would it be refering?

. . . and no, there's nothing wrong with this track at all !
the overdrive set against the clean bass and recorder is
pure genius ! . . and the cut dead ending ! . .
. . . brilliant

nice one
