Description

I had this progression roughed out and sitting on the shelf. I asked my good friend Anne Cozean (Sisters), if she was interested in it. She was. She wrote the melody, and lyrics and brought this baby home in her typical home run, heavy harmony style. I guess that's why I love her work so much! Hope you enjoy!

	Who's Gonna Love Me w Sisters What a charming shuffle. Great groove. Great arrangement. I love the lock between the bass and drums. Is there a guitar doubling the bass? Really good showcase
Anne is a fantastic singer and this song is a really good showcase for her vocals (and harmonies). Interesting shuffle beat and the sax interplay gives the song an old-fashioned feel but the arrangement and pro-quality production give it life and currency. Congratulations to both of you on a fine collaboration. Just one thought, in my mind it seems to end a bit abruptly? Take care both of you. Regards, Peter.

I do believe that was one of Anne's request. Will have to address that. I myself thought this was ok to end it like this, but I wouldn't mind addressing that. She seems to have the same feeling as you about the ending, so we will do that. She has waited months to see a final mix on this with all of the different incarnations on the project site... So I did this mix/master in a bit of a hurry. She's gonna do a mix/master too, so no doubt she'll address that. Thanks for the feedback buddy! Onward and upward...

fabulous... Anne's vocals I'm no stranger too.. and they are excellent in this and I'm well impressed by everything else too. Trying to learn drums myself at the mo, so any tips appreciated! The sax is great too, if perhaps a little over-powering in the mix relative to the vocals. I gave up on the MJ mix and went for the newer mix which seemed much brighter in general and less dull = better imo. Well done Freddy & Anne.

I could probably back the sax down a little, and not hurt this. My tips for drumming are to concentrate on the foot. If you practice enough the hands are kind of in the background of what you are focusing on, and you are tuned into the bass line to punctuate with the kick drum (most of the time). Don't be afraid to practice to a metronome, and record yourself and listen back to it. It's an eye opener for whether or not you speed up or slow down.

I think you nailed it right on the head. There is a "blue" element to the music that makes it not outright "happy", or "bouncy". And there is a part of the lyrics that has hope for the future, which makes it not outright sad. So maybe a little of both, as you said. Gentle and blue is a good way of saying it. Thanks.

Delightful
Everything about this is utterly delightful . . . kudos to both for top-notch work! I like that this is so understated--not overdone or flashy, just simple. The beauty of the vocals and instrumentation really shines through. The saxophone and vocals play off of and complement each other. Thoroughly enjoyed!
