Description
Funny how songs go one minute your writing a big band blues number that I can't wait to finish. Then I look over at A photo of My Dad thats been sitting there on my windowsill since he passed away a few years ago and think god I miss him. Thats where the song came from.

It's simple but hopfully a catchy tune and one that either reminds some how lucky they are to have had a great dad and others to appreciate Dad if their luck enough to have them around. A hint that he's the poor sod that has his hand constantly in his pocket handing out sweetie or candy tokens you driving you everywhere or picking you up. God bless them.

Lyrics
He carried me on Shoulders ten Feet High,
Taught me to look folks right in the eye,
When all said and done, I Am my Fathers Son
and I'm proud of the things hs's done
through the years.

Stood By me then, Stands By me still
A Voice to guide Whats right whats wrong.
With hand on heart I know it and till
lifes fight is done, I tell you now
I am my Fathers Son.

So I listen to the memorys,
I don't forget him now he's gone
Of all the things he taught me through the years.
There's one thing I'm sure of,
and my heart rely's upon
The fact that I am My Fathers Son.

A wonderful tribute. I love your sweet guitar playing in this. Great acoustic tone. Sweet and simple solo sits perfectly in the arrangement.

God Bless Dad
Poignant and striking beautiful. The percussion was a bit distracting for me but didnt obscure the meaning. Love the heart behind the song. I had a great dad too. I am glad you did as well.

Know what you mean
I wanted a softer brush type sound but being a novice have lots to learn on the mixing. Glad the feeling got across though Yeh for Dads

heartfelt
I love the feeling behind this one... your Dad would be so proud of you for writing this tribute to him. I found the percussion didn't do justice to such a lovely melody and lyrics. You may want to investigate other options for the percussion? Lovely anyhow though. I especially like the solo and lyrics:) Thanks for sharing.

Hi
Welcome Laura thanks for dropping in and Having a listen. As I said above I would have liked a softer Brush sound but it's all a learning curve. Glad you liked the rest of it though. Might just go and look through the drum settings or buy a new pack. Cheers.

My Fathers Son
What to say, where to start. Love the mellow beginning. Real mood song. The solo is truly epic, reminds me in style of Claptons Wonderful Tonight in the way that it is so simple and yet truly epic. The way you hold the notes is superb and great tone. Not 100% sure on the percussion but really a great piece and a wonderful dedication

Excellent
Hey Rick this is from the heart and really good. Mine passed away after a short illmess in 1996 when my son was only a year old. The first verse in "Treading Water" is for him. We certainly had our fall outs but I still miss him. Cheers Mark

I was stating to wonder about the Drums however music leans on personal choice and you just roll with it. Hopefully the sentement and feeling behind the piece got acroos so I appreciate all that gave it a listen. Keep well buddy and speak soon.

Dear Mr Harding
Oh don't sentimental? I bet I could bring a tear to your eyes if I withdrew all tea and bacon butty rations when your round my house. Bet you'd get bloody sentimental then. Singin bring back the good old Bacon butty blues. Oh yeh what a title I can feel the lyrics forming.

Well to be fair
...I would be sort of sentimental...but more nostalgic and wistful for the good bounteous times when bread lovingly caressed the cooked portion of of part of a pig slathered in HP Brahn Sorce.......
