Your comments are interesting as well. Tribal isn't something that - at least on the surface - I hear, but our minds make connections in all sorts of mystifying ways. Cheers, Charlie Check out my latest song called RADIANT FLESH (take 2)

I sense something of a Mexican feel about this.... it has a sense of being from one of those old Cowboy films where they stray over the border into some small village and the music is descriptive of the culture.... it's really very pleasant Charles and I wanted more, regards M Check out my latest song called Shine Your Light

My mind sometimes travels south of the border and must have stopped off at one of the small villages without my even knowing it. Cheers Maurice, Charlie Check out my latest song called RADIANT FLESH (take 2)

To me... this is definitely an "earthen" composition, bringing in the feeling of the great outdoors in a very splendid manner--my imagination saw donkeys being led uphill in some South American mountain area amidst some truly marvelous scenery. Aaron Copland excelled in creating moods such as this and it definitely carries more than a touch of his style. A very good one Charles and worth waiting for. You take care now and thanks again! The geographical state of this piece is becoming more defined and that's fine by me. Copland has always been a special composer for me. We're both New Yorkers yet share a longing for the great outdoors. The "earthen" quality you mention is often surfaces in my music - I want to feel the heartbeat of the world. Thanks Michael for your insightful and thoughtful comments. Cheers, Charlie Check out my latest song called RADIANT FLESH (take 2)

your piece is very cinematographic... You painted with notes here.. It is flowing and staccato at the same time Flowing like a brook... :-) Cool! KC Check out my latest song called I DON'T LIKE IT

Few elements... ...mske for a very pleasant listening experience because every one of your voices is clear throughout. The rhythm of your lower strings sets up the outdoors trip business perfectly; then you addition of flute and higher strings helps the number move along. I wonder if you'd consider a couple of things to "grow" this wonderful start to a longer song: 1) after the opening 8 to 12 bars, maybe back off on the volume of the the low strings — still letting them pulse away; 2) after 16-24 bars, a key change would really lift this up and allow for even more melodic development. You can always come back to the home key.... Anyway, just a couple thoughts. I really think this "dance" has so much potential for a vibrant and much-more-extended composition. You've set up something so pleasant here. Check out my latest song called I Speak Of Love

Charlie, I loved this so much that I played it four times in a row. I want this bit of luxury to become a full fledged symphony. It is joyous, celebratory and transports to wide open plains and people in tune with nature. You are a treasure. Thanks. Check out my latest song called The Sea

Thanks Char, I'm really happy you enjoyed my little dance so much and someday maybe it will become something larger. By the way I the last time someone called me a treasure it was part of an old joke but I know you didn't mean it that way...did you? Check out my latest song called RADIANT FLESH (take 2)

En salon Mexico for 2011? The rhythm in the basses is infectious, which makes the dancing with the flutes and clave (?) an invitation for the listener to get up and actually move!! You have expressed a lightness of step here that is quite wonderful. To me, the strings enter like a cooling breeze over the intimacy of the dancers. Minimal orchestration and maximum impact. You have clearly been a busy fellow - most prolific in fact! Thanks for the posting and ability to download it! Cheers, Doug Check out my latest song called The Asteroid [Doom2012]

That Copland guy could write some cool stuff. For this piece I used Strings, Woodblock, Flute, and actually a Sax pops up here and there. Sparse but hopefully effective. And you're more than welcome for the download. I wish I could do more and comment on new works of yours as well. Hopefully soon to come. Something tribal and unhurried about this to my ear. Interesting. Not what i expected from the title. All sorts of influences and ideas lurking!
Thanks for a compelling post.
