Description
I took a break from my main project (Which is taking me forever) and started working on a three part story called "Nightmare Gallery". Its a series of three Nightmares all strung together. This first one is about a guy who is dreaming about being carried to burial in a coffin...except he's not dead! He can hear the bells from the church as the paul bearers carry him to his grave. At the end, when his terror is at its peak, he hears angels singing.

Nightmare Gallery, Pt.1
This creepy good! You have done a good job of building tension throughout the track. The evolving keyboard at the end was a nice touch...I know you were trying to find a better solution for bass recording, but to me this sounds fine, nicely laid out in the mix. My only suggestion would be to play around with the panning on all tracks a bit more, separate the track a bit, use different levels of reverb for each track....this is a big thick guitar song, give it space. Nice post!

Thanks for listening. Yeah, I think I finally got my bass sounding a little better. Also, thanks for the tips, I'll try those things.

Very gothic.
No knocking or clawing sounds? No screams? Yow. to be paralyzed and to be aware..that is frightening. Thanks.

Yes, the idea is that he is alive, but unable to move or talk....kind of like in the waking moments of a nightmare, Bwahahahah

Thanks for listening!

Scary beginning
I really like the driving guitars. They reflect the mood to the song. Cool indeed... thanks for sharing.

Nightmare
Buried alive! Ugghh. That can be unpleasant. Really nice work on the sound quality. I like that pulse. The voices and effects in the background add the right touch of tension. Well done.

Waiting for angels!
Wow, this is a really impressive piece of music. Very much enjoyed.

As far as the subject goes (which seems to me a very difficult one) i would perhaps offer the view that the dynamic guitars come in a touch early in the piece for the stately and slow process of committing a coffin to the earth? Perhaps the dynamic section could come in later after drawing out that chill, wonderful beginning? Perhaps in time with the angel voices, to emphasise this change and the power of their song?

Just a thought. You do this brilliantly, anyway. i wouldn't know where to start with the technical side of Your achievement. Sounds professional to my ear.

Looking forward to parts two and three.

Take your tools with you (like Edgar Alan Poe did, apparently!)

Cheers now

Thanks Marc
Yeah, lol, I was debating about the tempo of the song for a while making this. I was caught between a traditional "funeral march" transition type tempo, and the churning, twisting speed of a nightmare. Thanks for the tips and input, it s always nice to hear.

Nightmare Gallery
This is a very strong beginning to what will be an epic collection I think. Take the time you need. Labor over them, get them right. It will be worth your time if this is the direction they are going. Nice tone on the guitar!

Thanks for the motivation, man.

I have this idea of what this is going to be. My hope is to translate each of the nightmares -that I find so terrifying- into a song that brings that same sense of fear into listener. Spooky, Bwahahah.

I have more in the works.

Thanks again for listening.
