Description
Recorded by racerat and sonnyjim on two tracks, just two mics, one take, no dubs, in Brooklyn in approximately 2004. We're both singing, I'm playing a crappy old Yamaha acoustic that I eventually sold for my Taylor 814ce. An acoustic version of the epic saga "Little Blind Cavefish" an original by yours truly. I have a full-on multi-track version, but this does a better job of getting across the true gestalt of the story. Enjoy.

Lyrics
Little Blind Cavefish
© 2010 racerat
Livin’ a thousand years
In the belly of the Mother
Lose your sense of sight
Losin’ all your color
I know you’re down there
Feelin’ your way around
Swimmin’ with stalagtites
And breeding underground
You navigate the passages
No words for night or day
Your precious luminosity
Contented just to stay
A Little Blind Cave Fish
Little Blind Cave Fish
Little Blind Cave Fish
Little Blind Cave Fish
It’s a wonder you don’t freeze
In the blackness and the cold
It must get so lonely
Down there in that hole
You must hear her move
The shifting of her stones
The birthing of a rift
The planets creaking bones
A body so transparent
A meaning so oblique
A world that so confined
A life that’s so unique
Chorus

Where did you ever get the idea for this? So original and cool. Great sounding live recording. Great vocals. I like the la la la la's in the chorus.
