Description
This is another collaboration with Natalie Scibetta. Natalie shared some lyrics with me a month or two ago and the core of this song almost wrote itself. Natalie's vocals and lyrics really inspire me. The title of this one is very apt.
As I was working on the music I've been listening more and more to Sigmund, both his own compositions and collaborations he has done with others. I'm a big fan of his guitar work and I wanted to see if he would be interested in working on this project with us. Luckily, he agreed. I love what he did with this. His parts bring really great energy to this tune.

I wrote this song when I was sixteen. It was part of a compilation called Black 15....my first "album!" It's next incarnation was several live recordings with my ex-band, Fallen Creatures. Since about 2003, this song has been sitting around on various cds waiting to be loved again. Steve has done just that. Originally, I simply sent him the lyrics and he wrote the music around what he "heard" reading the lyrics. The strange part, is that what he came up with is actually very close to the bare bones of the original song. That being the case, I was able to sing much of the original melody over Steve's fantastic instrumental track. "Your Inspiration" has certainly evolved again. This is my favorite incarnation to date. Thanks Steve....and Sig---your guitars rock!

Going back to right around the holidays, I started noticing Tonestones and Strangedream were putting out some seriously cool music together and I thought to myself "self, I would sure like to work with those two!". Shortly after the holidays, an email shows up in my inbox - it's none other than Steve, with an invitation to work on this project. Talk about fate! Anyway, as I began to develop my parts for this tune I began to get a sense of just how challenging Steve's music is to play with. I really found myself thinking outside my normal box, so to speak. I hit the send key with much trepidation as I sent my finished parts over, fully expecting to get a "thanks anyway" email right back. Fortunately Steve and Nat both liked what I did - whew! These two are so easy to work with! I hear talk of more projects down the road - well count me in guys, and THANKS for letting me be a part of this great tune!

Lyrics
Your Inspiration
By Natalie Scibetta
Reality is twisted around your little finger
and I'm looking for a fantasy
in your lingering
I never wanted it to happen this way
but we've all got sins to pay for
Let me be your inspiration
and we'll fornicate our desperation'
wouldn't it be nice if we could all just walk away?
clarify the information
and you complicate the situation
wouldn't it be nice if we could all just walk away?
You said to me
what you said to me
and you wished that you'd stayed quiet
but the words hung heavy in the room
you came to me
like you needed me
and you ask to be forgiven
then you do the unforgiveable
I never wanted you to see me this way
but we all want a little bit more
CHORUS
