Description
Making it through the night as a scared young child is quite an achievement, or so it seems at the time. I remember my fear being so intense and the figures at my window, silhouettes of monsters and witches coming for me!
I wasn't able to cry out for help for fear of being disciplined, so I usually had to deal with it myself. My sister would sometimes take pity on me and allow me to sleep with her, but she would also, on occasion, love to see me suffer.
Fear is a living, breathing thing and is always hungry!
So this piece shows my fear with brief moments of respite...

Sounds horrible! The account of your childhood experiences, i mean, not the music!
As always, beautifully put together. i liked the banging in the initial frightening bit, as if the bad emotions were trying to get in! Effective the way those tones are brought back, and define the mood of fear.
The only time i can remember being really terrified as a child was when i had nightmares. i had no choice but to yell out then, but fortunately i had a more understanding father by the sound of it! He used to break me out of it and calm me down in a way that i remember with great fondness now, looking back, long after his comforting spirit has passed from this earth.
Enjoyed it. Thank you.
