Cafe de Nuit
Beautiful! I love the sound! The larger reverb seems to be a bit of a departure for you. I like it. The interplay between the two guitars is beautiful. Downloaded!

Make that two glasses of wine
Lovely work Bill.

Nicely intertwined guitars and is that a mandolin in there as well?

Cheers

Thanks Dick
No it is a guitar, but I wanted to get that mandolin feeling for a cafe ambience.

Thanks!

A couple
of years ago I went to Paris with my son and family and we sat outside a cafe in Montmartre. It was only when we returned and I saw a version of the painting you used above, that I realised we had been sat in that very same place at one of those tables.
Beautiful guitar Bill and so right for listening to, as the world goes by, regards M

Rich
Needed a close listen this one. Very rich in ideas, multi-layered themes. Always loved this painting; used to have it on my wall at one time.

Quite a bright sound, overall, although there is the occasion dead fall with that nice bass run, a complex mix of occasional flashes of inspiration, and the sounds of the cafe, too.

Very well-considered and carefully put together piece. Listened a couple of times.

Impressive and enjoyable.

Might repay a little extra instrumentation. Perhaps a squeeze box to give it more of a french quality?

Nice job.

double take
ahh
ahh yes this is sweet picking indeed -
a high quality recording as well -
wow talk about smooth !
i just really love this kind of stuff -
oh man !
and the double-picking mandolin similation really tops it off well.
I thought for a while
that it actually was a mandolin ~
it really is SO delicious.

Beautifully constructed
Hi Bill. Beautifully constructed and played! The relationship developed between the two guitars is wonderful. Nice recording too. Thanks so much for the D/L. Take care, Peter.

It's a Santa Cruz Om/Pw
acoustical. I use heavy strings to get a better sound ! 2 AKG 351's stereo stick mics. A Really Nice Pre-Amp. Sometimes I spend a lot of time trying to place them. But I have to be careful they don't cancel each other. The mics that is":)

I like...
...how you can play a nicely sustained note against the more staccato thing that fingerstyle usually is... I like the two guitar thing here, too...

The tone is as rich as it always is, Bill.... Tone and melody suit the painting, too...

A delight
Your playing is excellent, and the way you have the two guitars working with each other is beautiful. Congratulations both on the tune, the playing and the recording.
