Description
As of 1:30 p.m. this afternoon, I have a new nephew named Luke. Haven't sat down at the piano to noodle around in quite awhile, so after getting off the phone with my sister, I decided to see if I could come up with a little "welcome to the world" lullaby. What you hear is what I played, lol, with very very little fixing up, so be kind. A simple little tune, but it feels good to have played something. Anyway, this is for baby Luke - 9lbs 4oz and 3 weeks early.

A beautiful lullaby for a beautiful baby. Music really is one of the greatest gifts. Its so personal especially when its as special and emotionally fitting as this piece. Gorgeous work Shay. Thanks for the D/L too.

To sweet, I hope he hears it everyday. Nice pacing...I would be challenged to be so restrained. You have such nice touch.

Sweet comments - thank you much. I'm glad you liked it. I actually was a little too restrained and had to bump up the tempo after I recorded it because it sounded more like a funeral than a birth. Anyway, thanks.

9.4 pounds I'm sure mom is glad Luke came when he did (as opposed to 10 or 11 pounds in 3 weeks :-)

What a lovely song Shay. You are so blessed with your talents as a musician and now as a new aunt :) I wish you and your family the very best in the years ahead. Sometimes...
The simplest is the best. This is utterly beautiful Shay. I wrote a lullaby for my Niece 12 years ago. I didn't think she liked it one way or the other until when she was about 8 and I asked, this is what she said, "uncle I don't want to fall asleep when I hear it, I just want to hear it". So this may get the same reaction from your nephew (I kinda hope so) I almost cried when my niece told me that. Beautiful Shay Beautiful.

...as one perfect little snippet given to another... Neat how you let it get just a bit warmer as it plays...

It's simple but it has that nice declamatory thing I tend to enjoy, where I can almost hear words at the edge of my hearing... There's a song in there waiting to be sung...

Very sweet, gentle and good....
