Description
once in a while I'll sit down and work out some different chord voicings. i wasn't really thinking of creating a song at the time, but this whole chord progression thing came about. It kind of has a mysterious sound to it so that gave me the idea of secrets lyrics. one secret I'll let out is that I have no idea what most of the chord names are here.

Lyrics
Secrets and Skeletons

secrets are locked away
scenerios and mysteries
silence is golden they say
put a price on what to say
no matter if it's fact or fate
the lips are sealed

skeletons are hiding in the closet (no bones here)
where the secrets are kept
you need to expect … secrets

just try to guess
a moment to speculate
a slip from the source
the words spill out to hear
now the skeletons are revealed

skeletons are hiding in the closet (no bones here)
where the secrets are kept
you need to expect … secrets

secrets are silent at night
not wanting to be heard
just a little hint please
tell your secret I'll tell mine

skeletons are hiding in the closet (no bones here)
where the secrets are kept
you need to expect … secrets

if I am not mistaken. I've got no end of "chord shapes" I play that i have no idea what they officially are! Nice to be "not constrained by the straight jacket of formal learning" or just couldn't be arsed to learn the theory!! Enjoyed the song. Cheers Mark

i actually found a web site this morning that you can place the notes on a virtual guitar neck and get the chord name. but there was one chord that it stated that it didn't exist. I'll name it the VH chord

the DOT is the guitar that plays the arpeggio notes from the beginning, with both pick ups on. i used the SG for the distorted guitar parts and the tele for the lead to cut through the mix.

Cool changes, I like those new voicings, especially that one right before the chorus. The spooky arpeggios go nicely with the theme of the lyric.

sometimes play around with chord voicings, it can conjure up some great sounds and progressions and you have certainly done that here Vic, this sounds superb!
Really nice mysterious vibe here with great vocals, very much enjoyed and a real fav.

spontaneous A magenor.

I like the strange arpeggios you came up with.
The transition that starts at 2:02 into the lead is way killer.

Tons o' tasty hooks.

Cool
Those arpeggios are where the mystery lies. Neat chords and changes. Your stuff is always clever in it's use of effects. Nice solo too.
I usually aim to use crazy chords that I have no idea what they are. When I look closer at them so I can replicate them around the freeboard it usually find out I'm just playing Am, F & G.... Again :)

Riding through the desert
on a chord with no name. Excellent post Vic - I dig the little twilight zone feel that comes and goes. The tough part when you don't know what the chords are is figuring out what to play on the bass - or so I've found. You obviously had no such trouble.

Suzanne and I have been using Netflix to slowly work thru most all of Hitchcock's filmography. Your mouthless speak no secrets Alfred art kind of freaked me out. I like the continuum part, the instrumental break (with a nice melodic solo) and kind of a hip hop drumming pattern. You ability to keep producing material is amazing.
