Description
This is an acoustic guitar instrumental solo. When I was playing it, it really hit me that it sounded from the early 1920's. Well it was a no brainer who I should dedicate this song to and that is was aunt Mrytle. She was quite the dream-boat in her earlier years.

In fact, my aunt after she married my uncle who passed a way, married my grandfather, a retired fire chief in San Francisco. They were on opposite sides of the family.

Well to make a long story short, my wife and I took care of her for a few years before she passed a way.

There are no words to describe how much we owe her in graduated! When I was little she used to give me spelling lessons religiously and the list becomes enormous!

If you're out there somewhere Myrtle, looking down. . . . THANKS !

I'm sure she's be pleased. Nice playful tune. Personally, I
think the large empty room reverb puts a bit of a chill on
what is otherwise a very warm intimate piece of music.
The music makes me think of being outdoors on a warm
sunny day.

I guess if I had an ibook I could record it outdoors but I don't.
Being that I have my computer set up in a room I am limited to that.

I know I need to polish my playing a bit. For some reason it was a very hard
arrangement to play. It really annoys me that I didn't get cleaner in my
fingering. It means a lot to me to play that piece cleaner but I wanted put it
up because right now I am going to be doing a lot of tile work and won't be
able get the composition played the way I would like. But I ddn't want to
forget it and so I recorded it.

Thanks for posting!

Well done, Bill
Hmm, I was wondering what something like this would
sound like with some tuba in the background playing a
bass line?

nice tribute
I like very much the simple rhythmic/melodic theme that
you introduce in this tune. It's catchy, and pulls the piece
together well.

Perhaps you depart from this in the middle section to
offer contrast, but I wish that there were some elements
of that first theme present here too, to help unify the
piece even more.

Then maybe re-introduce it again at the end, which would
make this piece more definitive.

With just a little tightening up of the structure, this
already good tune could be better. Good job!

What sounds simple but is not
Hey, good job man. I used to play this kind of stuff in my
20's and 30's so I know how hard it is to do and how
much practicing you have to do to get chops like this.
You said in one of your replies that it wasn't clean but I
didn't hear any mistakes?
I would be interested in hearing who your influences were
and what brand and model number mic you used.

Thanks,
Tom

To: bronco

It is a Gold Diaphragm Condenser Mic.
It is uni Direction. That's about all I know about it.
My influences change through out my life. But I guess what really got me into
music was Elvis Presley, then the Beatles. But after a while, that really didn't
do it for me because maybe I was starved for real beautiful music. So after
high school I got into finger picking then classical. I was very influenced by
Juan Rodrigo, but I loved really got into people like Guy Van Duser, Chet
Atkins, Christopher Parkening. Tons of other guitar pickers of all shapes and
sizes, styles etc.

I still love the older tunes though like: Sleep Walk, Telstar, Walk Don't Run.
Theme From a Summers Place. I love now listening to Enya, gosh is she
relaxing to listen too:)

Thanks

Beautiful...reminds me of many days meandering along
winding, dirt-covered back roads.

It's funny that you mention that because there is a very popular TV shower in
the area were I live. I't called Back Roads and they use acoustical guitar
fingerpicking as the theme.
