Description:
I don't know WHO owns this song... I've looked all over the web--it's from an old episode of "Happy Days" and I've wanted to buy it, but can't find it anywhere. St. Joseph's asprin is using it for an ad. I wanted to see if I could cover it using GB2, and I think it worked. If this song gets rejected, I understand, but give it a listen!

Nicely put together &mdash 01/27/05 - 04:28:54 PM
Not my kind of music but I can hear that a lot of effort
went into this. Very nicely played. Well done!

I was rollin &mdash 01/27/05 - 06:02:11 PM
Not sure what I was expecting, but this certaintly wasn't it.
Maybe it's just because it's 1 in the morning, but this had
me literally rolling on the floor with laughter. My only
critisizm is that there's a sound like a mic being bumped
in a couple places on the trace.

I don't recall hearing this song before so your rendition is the first I'v heard. Really nicely done. Pretty funny and catchy. So you did this all with loop and your own vocals? Well done.

that's the beauty of GB2. I did this only with loops! Thankfully one of the loop
collections (i think #3 from apple) includes actual chord progressions! but
when a particular chord didn't exist, in came the transposition tool... and now
that GB displays the loop with a "+3" or a "-5", I know where the changes are.
I tossed this baby off in about 20-30 minutes. you can tell by the not so great
vocals. I just wanted to see if it could be done. btw.... it's not a bayer
commercial... it's St. Joseph's asprin (the orange baby kind).

nice - transcription tool? &mdash 01/31/05 - 08:03:48 AM
Does the "+3" or "-5" on the transcription tool refer to tones or semitones?
Or notes on a scale?

Great rendition by the way. Nicely done.

nice - transcription tool? &mdash 01/31/05 - 08:12:05 AM
er.... still trying to figure that out. the transposition tool just says
"Transposition: X" and the X is the number. I've had to play and experiment. I
believe it's simple interval, not semitone, but i'm prolly wrong.

Teacher's tool &mdash 01/31/05 - 08:58:40 AM
Great fun. I completely missed this during my Happy Days
watching so it was totally new. I wrote a kid's musical
about Anatomy 12 years ago and could have used this as
an inspiration then. Great fun. When we can list songs
with keywords, you should include anatomy and
circulatory system for all those 5th grade teachers out
there. (Really nice use of loops.)

Hi, I was on MacJams.com and found your comment about the "Pump Your Blood" song. I teach surgical technology(College level) and am looking for this song to use in a project. Meanwhile, seeing that you have also had some teaching experience (a yonger set of students perhaps) in the sciences, I thought I would ask you if you have any fun, innovative or whatever, tips, or things to share. Of course A & P are part of the cirriculum but I am always looking for new ways to present the same stuff. Thanks so much, Dawn718

It was written by Anson Williams for episode #142 of Happy Days. But I have not had any luck yet buying it.

Almost sounds like something that belongs on Sesame
Street... fun AND educational!

Fun! &mdash 02/07/05 - 08:58:50 PM
All loops? It sounds like a real band. That's probably also
courtesy of that slapback echo on your voice, which is
precisely the effect you want in this music. Well done.

that post in the forums, about cover tunes, because that's
how I discovered this one, from your post. This little tune
(cover) is great! I can see why it's been so popular. Way to
go Cantor! Thanks for posting.

I love how all those big words are flung at us and are a little awkward, but
it all makes sense! A knee-slappin' good time. Yeehaw!

I'm not a big country-western fan but this was most enjoyable. Who knew
you could get a biology lesson from country music?
