Description
Brand new composition recorded between January and April 2011. The music had originally been intended as the basis or a new Dynamite Van Pipe track but I became covetous of it and kept it for my solo work. This is entirely create in GB and uses only GB effects and settings. I spent a long time on the vocals as they were going to be key to the song's success, especially as the lyrics are nonsense.
The aim was to produce a party power pop song that gets you singing along. I hope I've achieved that.

This almost borders on punk, eh? But you rocked out this genre you selected.

BTW - you ought to check this out on cheesy laptop speakers, it really works well. Cheers!

Genre
What is a genre anyway? I just checked this on my own laptop and you're right, the dynamics hold up. Lucky mix I guess! Thanks for the comments

70's Rock
Just the place I like to go when I'm trying to wake up in the morning. Silly, maybe, but a fun song Paddy. Cool song with good production and mix.

Summer Anthem
Man that's a cool and kind comment - anthem is a big gig to play. Glad I got that California beach groove up for ya, especially as I'm here in the heart of England!

Hippy chicks and stoners!
i've been listening to a lot of early nirvana lately and the intro riff definitely has that vibe. Really like the backups on the chorus, they're fantastic. No idea how you get up into that register. Do you ask your wife to kick you in the cajones? And that wonky little sonic youth like solo is groovy too. Also dig the ric ocasek break. Like a junk drawer of cool.

No matter how hard I try
.. I can never shake my love of early Nirvana from my sound. Glad you dug the Sonic Youth wonkiness - it was artfully aimed for. As to the vocal range, read it and weep cowboy :-) some of us are just lucky that way!! Love your latest dude. Proper Elephant 6 stuff going on.

The riffs would not sound out of place on Nirvanas Bleach album, cool vocal arrangement well done

Riffs
if my riffs could grace "Bleach" then I'd be a happy man, one of my favourite albums of all time. Thanks for the truly massive props man.

Guitars
Yes there are guitars. What I meant was I did not use any plug-ins, just the amp simulator built in to GB.

Pop with edge...
Some catchy, quality pop with a bit of edge, Paddy. Like the guitar tones and the vocal work. Enjoyed. Regards, Peter.

Edge ..
I like edge (and The Edge, but that's another story, check out my "I'd Like To Know What Makes You Tick to see just how much I admire him!. It's cool to be pop but always keep some edge.

Wipe Out Wipe Out
Definitely your best vocal performance to date. Awesome mix. I still think GarageBand kicks Logic's booty, and you've supported my argument with this killer tune.

Nice riffage through out. Your guitar sounds and my kind of heavy. Perfect tune Paddy Cakes. You should be proud of yourself. I am!

Proud
I am proud of this one Bobster. The vox, well I know why they are my best to date, cos lazy ole me decided that for a change I'd do 6 or 8 takes rather than my usual one or two. Seems to make all the difference.
The guitars are a mixture of my cheap LP copy and my lovely Ibanez, through my baby Marshall 25 watt amp, played clean and then re-amped through the GB simulator.

Guitars
I got my setup just right for my guitars these days. Tone is rarely an issue and my playing benefits from practice. The vox was down to good old fashioned repetition, it works you know!

mission accomplished. Great vibe and excellent drum track propelling the festivities. Top notch vocals - all the work paid off. Cool track. I think I've mentioned The Undertones before. Nerdier than you - but there's an energy that's similar. Hope you like them - or I'll retract that compliment.

Undertones
I'll never throw out comparison with my fellow Irishmen the wonderful Undertones. Growing up "My Perfect Cousin" was a permanent fixture in our house! I wouldn't say they were nerdier than me though, you should see me when I pore over the latest gadget catalogues ...
