Description
Paul F. Page did a beautiful piano arrangement for me. André van Haren played Paul's score into Logic. I voiced and balanced everything and this is the result. Enjoy.

Lyrics
Wondrous Clay

Lord of life, you love all souls.
By your touch we are made whole.
Sculptor of all time and space,
hold us in your warm embrace.

[refrain]
God, you watch creation toil.
God, you seed and water soil.
Guide us through another day.
Shape our lives in wondrous clay.

Often blind and so afraid.
Then your Word makes worries fade.
Healing Spirit, bring new light.
Illuminate our darkest night.

[refrain]

We journey with your risen Son
from mother's womb to valleys beyond.
Lead us to a vision so true,
through living waters that renew.

[refrain]

Thanks, Feter. It's a work in progress. Expect a new twist/approach on this song soon. It will rock.

Song of Praise
Exactly the sort of tune that one tends to hear on Sunday evenings on TV. Nicely produced, great accompaniment and pleasant voice.

The spiritual experience sounds sure, smooth, easy and joyous. Don't know where you get that from, but hold on to it if you have it!

Cheers now

Marc

Song of Praise
Not done with the song. Flute, guitar and strings will be added in next. I will include an instrumental break after second refrain, plus a modulation going into the third verse. The musical and spiritual expression will span two centuries.

I was tired when I tried to sing it last night. My voice was not pitch-perfect and steady, plus I was trying not to wake up my son who sleeps in the basement where I was recording (I need a padded home recording studio!). Of about ten lead voice tracks I recorded, I actually blended three of them, at varying levels, to smooth out the sound, purposely giving a bit of a delay/phaser effect in places (especially ends of phrases). Norman Miller noticed this. I judiciously used the Space Designer convolution reverb on both individual vox tracks and on global Out channel. In my headphones, everything sounds so lush – the most "listenable" mastering I have ever done for a song. Other songs of mine sound jarring or abrasive because of too much compression or because of conflicting, unnatural reverb matrices applied. In headphones, the brain is quite perceptive about echo – it can be physically distressing to listen to an ambience that breaks the laws of natural sound physics.

relaxing
Your voice has such a calm, relaxed sound to it here - like it was nothing to record it! I like the gospel harmonies at around 1:00 when they come in. Very enjoyable. Well done.

Lyrics and genre are not my cuppa tea, but I can appreciate lovely melody, singing, harmonies, arrangement. A lovely and very musical production.

Thanks, John. I'm striving to make it the best it can be. Trying to refine my wooden wheelbarrow voice.
