Description
A techno mix with just an 808 and 909 (do the math) from ReBirth on the iPad. Heavily filtered and distorted but nothing but drum machines throughout. Great with headphones!

Just another effort on an iPad only. The only problem was getting a fade at the end - stops sort of abruptly.

this is pretty cool - experimental in nature but can tell this is your genre.

All bout the knobs!
Thanks for listening! ReBirth is all about the knobs! Its part pattern sequencer and part performance tool. Does repeat alot but think that's pretty much Acid-House. Not sure I pulled it off as well as some but it was a blast putting together. This piece didn't use either of the 303s since it was drum based.

more filter twiddling!
Only after the 2:00 mark do you really go for what made the 808/909 (and 303? I actually had a 606 which somehow never became as fashionable) so special: the possibility of doing wild stuff with the filters.

Cool stuff. Pity that they don't let you try out things on the iPad. Buy or not at all. And I already have too much crap that I never use.

Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestions. I think the song could use a bit of editing but I tried to keep it more or less as performed. Some of the transitions are a bit abrupt and I agree that the start is a bit slow building. I really like the app despite it's lack of support. I too have tons that I barely use on the iPad but the good news is that the prices are cheap enough that it isn't too painful.

...
I bought a 808 back in the day. Returned it and traded it in for a Fender Jazz Bass because my brain just doesn't operate that way. Like what you're doing with the sound tho.

Thanks for listening
This was fun to make. I am not necessarily that into techno but I love fiddling with Rebirth and the filters/knobs and delays. This was sort of experimental in that it didn't use the 303s at all. Would love to have some "real" analog synths someday!
