Description
There's another incarnation of this song on my page. I wanted to be anthemic and have chiming guitar, so I redid the song, sang in a higher register, reworked some of the lyrics, etc, etc. I hope you like it!

Lyrics
Still Boat Burning
This dirt, it’s mocked you raw for years –
You’d goad the ocean to cry you your tears
Take these matchstick towers and burn them down
I’m on my way, I’ll run the river down
Drive the stillness down
Take this foundering boat and will it home:
Toss the sails to sea, they’re overthrown
Take these listless hands and set them free –
Knit a gown of fog upon the sea
That old beast, he knows ‘bout hungry ghosts,
Yeah, it’s a hollow dawn you mourn by rote
Take this reeling myth and make it breathe –
These fingerprints scatter like dead leaves
Drive the stillness down
Set this snarling wind a face of stone,
Legs for it to run, and moonlit bones
Still the ceaseless hymn that crowns your blood,
Lay your dead to rest in the river mud
Dip these sordid grins in something light,
History, they say, is watertight
Why don’t you be dry ice into air –
I’ll write to psalms that nestle in your hair
Drive the stillness down
This dirt, it’s mocked you raw for years –
You’d goad the ocean to cry you your tears
Drive the stillness down

hey ben....great to see another post from you. didn't go for the synth opening and your voice seemed detached from it....but then the rest kicked in and what a great riff! very catchy and as usual excellent lyrics. your voice is much more 'on it' with this one....are you trying harder?
love the feel of it....felt a little cheated by it being a repeated theme. it does hold attention however because it's catchy.
