Description
took my daughter to the playground and realized while I was there that I could record things on my iphone. ended up banging on the big plastic slides and the rails with a stick I found and recording a shoe grinding sand into concrete. went home and made a drum kit out of it. so this song was written around the drum beat. when the tracks are soloed you can hear my wife and daughter laughing at me.
added a 808 kick, and a broken drum machine and the beat was done. then added some synths and made some loops out of synth parts I had recorded and time stretched and added a bass from the ES2 (I wanted to try out using a sine wave as a bass).
vocals were a pretty rushed affair, but they do the job. the lyrics are basically me whining cuz the wife and I were arguing on one of those days where the kids are going insane ALL DAY LONG. put the song in the APOD shared dropbox and Kevin sent me a bass track which I filtered to death. it adds to the overall rhythm of the track, and you can hear it soloed during the break.
Sophie loves this song because she did a lot of the banging when I sampled the playground.

Music is everywhere and this proves it! Great story! So cool that Sophie played a part. She won't forget it I bet. It's great to watch children play and learn at the same time. Very inspiring! I'm going kayaking with my wife this morning. I wonder what I could record with my iPhone.
