Thanks very much Mark! I'm happy this met with your approval--I rather slapped this together earlier today as I wanted something "new" for Dani to hear on her anniversary date. This sounds much better on the new desktop speakers my partner bought today (finally, I have some good speakers!) than on my headphones, so I was not sure how this would sound. Incidentally (more good news!), after a LONG time waiting, I am finally getting a keyboard and hope that one day we can do an instrumental/vocal type of thing together. Nice dedication to someone whose made such lovely contribution to this site.

Incidentally we do have a local accent in the NE of England where 'all right'; is actually pronounced 'all reet', so for a moment, i thought i was hearing Geordie (as it is called)!

I think my two very favorite versions of this are (in this order): Tommy Dorsey's and Frankie Laine's. The Dorsey recording is, of course, a classic now, but I think I first heard this song watching an old movie bio of Helen Morgan, the singer from the 1920s (beautifully done by Gogi Grant, who was doing the actual (dubbed) singing). This is not so very easy to sing (low notes at the start and then it goes high up--at least for my range), but it's always been a favorite of mine. Sunny side
Ya know MJK, we're having some uncommonly sunny weather here in the UK at the mo and the way our street sits north to south, there's always a sunny side and a shady side. I was going for a walk with my little daughter only yesterday and asked her if we should walk on the sunny side of the street and sang a few bars of this very song! And now I find my favourite vocal gymnast has a version up here! I like that "Sun-sun-sunny side of the street" bit especially! It's got a great backer but as always your effortless vocal steals the show. Dani must be delighted! Brilliant stuff my friend. Will encourage the old geezer to bend his ear trumpet to this one! I'm sure he'll love it too.
