After uploading this yesterday I have had a lot of feedback relating to the mix especially the vocals! So I have brought the vocals forward a bit.

Its still just a basic 2 track tune and a load of fun to play

Nice song! I like the vocal a lot. My one suggestion is the guitar seems pretty dry when compared to the big reverb (or delay) on the vocal. Although that certainly doesn't take away from the quality of the song!

Leave the guitar dry in the mix....
hmmmm,add some whisked reverb and blend in a little echo ....or some totally freaky choc chipped distortion and smarties.....but of course I take the proverbial......good two tracker ....

cool tune, this would be great with a full band, but this is a good 2 track tune. but that is a chorus that a listener can really get into, could be like a repeated refrain that builds and pulls you in, there is some power in the melody you have found for that, anyway, enjoyed, thanks for posting

I like your sincere vocal, and the chord progression suits the song. I think it would flow better if you removed the interlude between verse and chorus. The mix would sound more natural if you applied the same reverb setting to the guitar as on your voice. I like the song - think its got potential.

Playing at sunset
Nice coffee house live performance intimate feel. I'm not sure if it's the effect you put on your vocals or the length of space between you and the mic, but I think this track would sound even better if you could somehow capture your vocals with the presence and closeness you capture the clean and clear guitar. Really nice photo at sunset, too.

I think your vocal still seems a bit distant.
The guitar sounds right up in front but the vocals sound as though the singer is back, about three rows of chairs away. Such a pretty song. How about some harmonies or some whistling? I haven't heard much whistling and this song sounds "whistful". Thanks.

Lovely tune!
A little Chili Peppers-meets-Beatles going on. cool chord progression. I haven 't listened to the older mixes or anything, but what jumped right out at me here was the big disconnect between the guitar and the vocal from a production perspective. The guitar is utterly dry, organic, warm, inviting; and the well-executed vocals are very "produced"; awash in delay/short decay reverb... I think somewhere in the middle the truth lies, though for a song like this, I think the guitar is closer to where it seems to want to be... Maybe just the SLIGHTEST hint of reverb on the guitar, only above about 400Hz, and dry out the vocal significantly, and let them play in the same relative space in the soundfield... Your voice is very pleasing, I think you should let it come to the front and play. :) Not louder, mind you, just in the same sort of organic richness with which you captured the guitar. Sweet tune!

Really glad that you have offered me such sound advice and hopefully as time goes on I will improve on this side of things. ...that are insightful. My two cents focus on the simplicity of this song and your unaffected rendition of it. The vocal could come UP in the mix, but you are on the right track in terms of clarity, both great foundations in song writing and recording/mixing. ... I read over the lyrics several times and must admit to not really "getting" them. If there is a story, it doesn't translate in my head. Why, why, why...?

great tune...
Really like the chord work here. The mix still sounds like it could do with a little tweak here and there (feels a little midrange-heavy, with a little too much reverb on the vox, but only slightly). Nice singing voice there, Neil.
