Description
About three minutes of mayhem on Hoedown. Having fun with the FM synth and stomp boxes in Logic. Way back when DX-7s and FM synths were new, I got to noodle around on one, and wished I could afford it. I just realized there's a virtual one in my Mac! What fun!

This was neat as hell!
Highly original and great fun (in the kind of way the Boston Pops under Fiedler had at times). Incidentally, my maternal grandfather was a state champion yodeler who also worked as a hoedown caller--I know he would have enjoyed this as well! Michael

FM-licious!!! XP
Frequency Modulated goodness is all I can say. The electrons must have had a field day inside your Mac on this one. So many different colors and sounds of festivities; it brought a smile to face. Just like the old electric light parades they had at Disneyland when I was little girl. Great job on the synthesis and programming as well as the performance. Truly wonderful :) patty

You get
all my congratulations for getting these wonderful sounds from synths.... I've tried, but only ever got the simplest sounds from them. This is a really uplifting performance and quite a bit of work went into it I can tell..... excellent work, regards M

Stomp boxes.
Why should the guitarists have 'em all to themselves? Run your keys through them too. Take some pure clean FM sounds and sprinkle liberally with dirt from some stomp boxes, and sometimes you get a really interesting sound.

Great job
with the synths! I love the traditional guitar and fiddle hoedown transformed into a synth version. This is real creative stuff!

Hoedown
What a wild and wonderful ride. Spike Jones meets Switched On Bach. Loads of great melodic and harmonic invention here. Love the variations that sound like an Irish reel. You could dance to this! Excellent post.

Yeehaw! Now THAT'll put Aaron yer chest!
Wacky square-wave dance, very subtle hints at ELP, but major nods to H3nry. I might not have panned the main melody over to the far left, but other than that, I loved the instrument choices, and the very inventive arrangement. Synth to yer pardner!
