Description
I wrote this song supposedly to accompany a music video that my friend wanted to make with me. We still haven't gotten to doing it yet. She wanted a song about "brokenness" and this is what I came up with. It took a while for all the elements to come together, but I liked how it turned out. It's got a touch of science fantasy in it, and the topic of time seems to be a recurring theme.
I'd written this song once I'd accepted that sometimes, all you have with some people are a few beautiful moments. And you can't change that, because you know that it just wasn't going to work out the way you'd imagined. But no matter how badly things have turned out, or no matter how short the time was, those moments will never cease to be beautiful.

Lyrics
I will tell myself it's better
to just cross but never twine
I'm falling
hyperbolic from this
this strange kything
and I have no say in my bearing
It's a shame that
cards were drawn for us
the math was done for us
but I still adore
the thing you are
even though you can't stay
don't ask how it could have been
don't ask for a substitution
the time tired out
the last crumb gone
Well I'd still give anything
there is a spark
that never sleeps
in a lakelike clockwork
It could keep us warm
as we fade out
it's just how we're placed
and set into motion
even the potent numbers
they are not enough to silence us
There is a place for us
to just cross but never twine
I'm falling
hyperbolic from this
this strange kything
and I have no say in my bearing
It's a shame that
cards were drawn for us
the math was done for us
but I still adore
the thing you are
even though you can't stay
don't ask how it could have been
don't ask for a substitution
the time tired out
the last crumb gone
Well I'd still give anything
there is a spark
that never sleeps
in a lakelike clockwork
It could keep us warm
as we fade out
it's just how we're placed
and set into motion
even the potent numbers
they are not enough to silence us
There is a place for us

Lovely job with all the musical nuances happening behind the lyrics. Slightly Peter Gabriel...ish but not. Good mix. I would say you have done an excellent job of getting the feeling of brokenness across.
