The Recital…(live)
Back in 2008 my older sister played Classical Piano (she’s the only one classically trained-my parents probably ran of money for music lessons for me) at her Recital and I was asked by her teacher to write a short 6 min piece on keyboard for when the people are being seated. I forgot that I recorded this piece and was happy to find it again. That night I was so nervous, you can hear all the mistakes and timing problems. I was so happy that I got thru it. The only noticeable (for me) booboo was at the ending…

The piece. I believe it is a fugue. I came up with a simple phrase and repeated over and over (I hope its not that repetitive). The interesting thing about this piece is that there is no multiple tracks. I layered a Flute/Oboe/Clarinet and strings as one patch. Sorry for the horrible synth sounding instruments. The pauses are when I had to press buttons to add or subtract instruments. Scary while live. There are basically 2 parts to this piece; C major and C minor. I hope you will enjoy.

Sorry! I won't drop my jaw again.

This is drop-dead gorgeous... besides the fact that it would take me 6 months to come up with a "little 6 minute piece". The repeated phrase is nicely embellished and is enjoyable. The whole thing is stately and mellow. And as a live recording, I only heard tiny timing things that just made the whole thing even more endearing as it was really played.

You should be really proud of this. And the audience got to hear YOUR piece first! :-)

I wanted to make a correction with the wording above Kassia... I forgot to take out the "takes" part and leave the "no multi-tracking" by itself. After reading the description again it sounded like I improvised the whole piece on the spot. Oops… I had practiced several nights before the recital. Sorry for the confusion :) Maybe, after I learn how to compose and write music, I will return to this piece and do it justice. Thanks again, so much for listening. I love your work-Big fan!

	The Recital…(live) At the risk of looking dumb.....I didn't know those were synth tones at the start. It sounded like an orchestra to me. I thought you were conducting. That's a really nice compliment there, and I thank you for that! Much appreciated. I'm still so new when working with the workstation. The expression settings are really wonderful and amazing. That probably adds to the realism, that can make an ordinary flat sounding patch come alive? Anyways, I was so thrilled that I was able to use some of those functions for experience when playing live :) Thanks again for your lovely comment and for the listen.

Captivating piece of music; while it's perfect for background music, to sit and listen to it is very enjoyable - it can take you to another place with its calmness and serenity. I didn't notice any mistakes, but then I wasn't listening for them - this is so good! Really enjoyed this - thanks!

Sweet and gentle...
This is quite lovely! You shouldn't explain the pauses; they just sound like a pause to me, not a mistake... 1:39 mark is heavenly, the swelling just carried me away... Great voicing at 2:20. This feels very movie score-ish to me. I can see this running over the closing credits of a movie. I'd sit through it to just close my eyes and listen. Very impressive work! Gentle, peaceful, emotional, uplifting, redemptive...

Being, that I love movies it's no wonder that all my favorite influences come out in this piece. I was wondering if the genre is more like soundtrack then classical. Lovely Mozart came to mind and then I hit submit :)

Moving. Can only imagine how it must have felt like hearing it live. Yes, live performances have a completely different array of technical, emotional and other unexpected challenges, but also have potential to create unforgettable moments in time.

This track is absolutely lovely, and I neither noticed the imperfections in the performance, nor did I mind the quality of the synths.

I'm sure this was memorable to many more people than just yourself. Very nice post.

I believe
that though you did not get the benefit of being trained you more than compensated for that by being creative and courageous. You are a born teacher because you taught yourself and you will always remember your journey, as all of the learning and teaching came from you alone. 	Brilliant! As you can see, I'm "wasting" some time going through your music. I should be doing something else, but this is far more enjoyable. Great composition. Nothing wrong with synths, btw.
