Description
This is our first contribution to MJ. The lyrics were a poem written by Nichola which fitted seamlessly with an existing piece of James' It then grew a refrain that still needs one more variation before we are happy. We feel that it needs further instrumentation but that is another learning curve away.

Lyrics
Feet

When my feet have grown weary and the road feels too long
When I'm tired of the world and all its ceaseless throng
I lay my heart in your hand, you hold it tenderly
For that time my worries, they have a place to be

With you here beside me now
All my troubles fade away
When you say you feel the same
Aaah

You dust my aching feet, you anoint them with your oil
you wrap me up inside you and release me from life's toils
You take my tattered tethers, unwind them carefully
Throw them to the wind and so you set me free

I see the world recede from view
All the voices disappear
When you draw me close to you
Aaah

My spinning mind starts easing, I hear my spirit breathe
I feel the worries draining, I sense the heartache leave
I see the deeper splendour, as each layer unfolds
Celebrate newfound joy and peace that fills my soul

With you here …...

Beautiful tone
This is a lovely threesome - two sweet vocals and a soft guitar. The lyrics are very special too. A satisfyingly complete song.

Feet
The opening acoustic grabbed me and then those wonderful vocals came in. I really love the male female harmonies. You could always embellish and add more instrumentation to this but it works beautifully in the simplicity of the acoustic in the open tuning and the purity of the haunting vocals. Very nice.

Thanks SG...
...for taking the time to listen to our composition, and for what you said - it's always great to get constructive feedback. We hear what you say about 'less being more', but James aspires to more of a Nick Drake sound. We'll get there eventually.

less is more.....
A wonderful first contribution to here...in its purest form, this is exceptionally well composed.... Poetically and acoustically complete..... beautiful ~ very much in joy'd!! ~barbara

Many thanks
Thanks Barbara for your generous words. There's often the temptation to enlist all the 'bells and whistles' available in a music programme and leave simplicity to live performances, so we're glad people enjoyed the 'less' approach here.

Warm sunshine breaks across Macjams
What a great entrance... a warm romantic lyric that unfolds across the landscape painted by sweet guitar strumming, delivered with tender singing. Very nice piece of music, well crafted and performed. And the sentiment touches my heart, thank you.

Wow, such a warm and lovely response - we're humbled by your words; thank you Drakonis. Glad to hear that the sentiment came across authentically; Feet was written with heart and feeling for someone dear.

Beautiful
The poem is at the core of this - thoughtful and meaningful words that capture the listener. The sweet vocal, subtle harmonies and clean guitar playing complete the package. Much enjoyed!
