You Won't Forget it
I like your hook, nothing like a musical fu directed towards one who has wronged us in love :) Strong vocals & harmonies, tight playing, good balance & separation on the mix. You might consider a vocal bridge to strengthen the song.

Hi James.
Very cool piece man! Is that a vocoder going with the vox? Very nice man!

Thanks Loob, I didn't use vocoder believe it or not. It was some sort of natural thing that was going on with built in mic. I'm learning as I go. I found my built in does just as good a job a my studio tube. Thanks for the comment !

I really like the Beach Boys comment. One of my all time favorite musicians Todd Rundgren is a fan of The Beach Boys! Funny how our own music doesn't reflect directly who we listen too. thank you for the comment.

Quite impressive for first post
I was not sure what to expect but I really enjoyed listening to your song. Nice voice and nice instrumental play as well. Looking forward to seeing more posts when you can.

You won't forget it
Thanks a lot Bob. It's kind of scarry just putting your own stuff out there when you write and record everything yourself. Back in the 80's when my band was in the studio the owner pretty much did everything because at the time we were only 15 yrs old. It's pretty awesome having so much at your finger tips. I appreciate your comments and I have many songs I am working on.Thanks again

Thanks J. I recorded it the way I wrote it 1981. I'm my worst critic. thats why I take so long to complete my projects. and I'm never quite sure of my final mix.

just wait until i am 16...
I enjoyed this, it is indeed a "teenage angst" song, but in a soft gentle way. I do hear the auto-tune kicking in (it is called "Enhance tuning" on the vocal track), but it adds a little techno-punch that actually adds to this. Great song writing here (wish I could have done that at 15!) and nice vocal and harmony lines.

You won't forget it
Eduard, Thank you so much. the Enhance tuning drives me crazy. I prefer not to use it because I hear some pitches bend that I don't want to bend but in this case I desided it sounded a little more modern, so I kept it in or on. Glad you enjoyed my song. thanks for the comments.

Awesome
What a great tune, you have a lovely voice. Sans the auto-tune thing, you certainly do not need that. This has such an innocence to it, you wrote it when you were 15, that must be why. I really like the vulnerability of the song. Welcome to MJ, I look forward to hearing more from you!

Welcome aboard!
Hope you have fun at Macjams... You do a really good job with harmonizing in a pleasing, blended way, the arrangement choices are solid... I agree that a bridge would bolster the song even more... Look forward to more, good first post!

You Won't Forget It
Welcome to MJ! Great first post. Crazy teen angst that's for sure, but a great chord progression. Very plaintive and simple. Looking forward to more. The auto-tune/vocoder sounding thing that is going it certainly kind-of odd, especially because it sounds like it wasn't done intentionally. But, it works, and that is all that's important.

You won't forget it
Yes it was done intentionally I kept playing it autotune on then off back and forth, but I desided it modernized the song since I wrote it in 1981. Im glad I left it on. thank you for the kind comments. glad you liked it. I will be posting more of my older tunes in near future.

It works
Interesting what you've done with the vocal - don't usually like fiddling too much with that, but it works here - maybe because of the other vocal supporting it? Clean playing and impressive overall sound - enjoyable listening!

jab me in the back...
James....your wonderfully composed first MJ song was brought to my attention by my close friend Scott. First of all, welcome to MJ. And secondly, I must admit, melodically this is an inspiring piece of work...however the lyrics, from a woman's perspective, were quite dispiriting in the sense of a futile romantic relationship. Perhaps it is the YOU statements reflected here that threw me off...as it is never a one way street. Some women may be this way....but not all! Much in joy'd!! ~barbara

You won't Forget It
Thanks Barbara, I'm just trying to record my New and Old music. I was married for 23 yrs to a person who viewed my music as a joke. Many years ago a girlfriend turned out to be a whole different person than I thought. My songs and music helped me cope with it at the time. Garageband is such a great tool for me. I won't ever give up on my dreams. I'm glad to have found Macjams. Thanks for your kind words and I know there are wonderful devoted women out there.

A cool tune
In my head phones it seemed right centered... IE I was missing stuff in the left ear. Just to be sure I played some other songs and the HPs are working right.

Nice work on the tune! Welcome to MJ... A great place to hang out!
