Description
for http://www.macjams.com/artist/OneSynthChallenge

all done with the TAL NOIzE M4K3R

A Jazz piece for the one synth challenge - all tracks performed on Akai MPK mini keyboard with TAL synth.
This was interesting! Drums were a bit of a challenge.
Used mostly tweaked TAL presets.

No effects - just some PAN settings for depth.

Hope you like it.

Love the title
expected Country Western. Love the halting beat - adds some tension to the piece - and the layered melodies work really well. Cool entry to the challenge.

Taloneous Monk?
Thought of TALoneous Monk, but that's a PUN too far I think. Thanks for listening - this was a cool challenge, learned alot about a new synth.

You made it swing, well maybe wobble nicely :). The funky chords are sweet as well. Thanks, you made an interesting experience...

the TALling of the bells
there's no such thing as too much pun. Taloneous monk is exquisite.

Love the bells here, as well as the intelligent groovy rhythm. The backwards cicada sound actually reminds me of my teenage years playing with a jacob's ladder in the garage, adding to the electrical charge of this piece.

TAL in the Saddle
The melodic and harmonic content here are so strong you could take this a step further and add a vocal down the line. Well written!

Nice
I was really looking forward to this challenge, I love synths. This is cool, has an 80's feel to it, could be the bells. Awesome, I dug this!

Appreciate the listens
Thanks for taking the time to listen. This was a blast to put together. I think having limits up front helps in many ways to accelerate productivity. Too many choices sometimes can bog you down. I was trying originally to use Thumbjam as a midi controller for this piece but the latency was a bit too much so I went the old fashioned way and banged on my Akai keyboard (with a few cheats like transposing to the White keys...why are there black keys there anyway?)

Nice___
Michael you've managed to take the TAL to another level. I've listened to all the post and you have managed to find sounds I haven't yet heard. I'm sure there are thousands of sound possibilities with this synth which is why I am going to download and work with it. Great work!

Enjoyed - Thanks for sharing,

mvh : )

Sparkly!
The slight wonkiness in this makes it all worthwhile! Nice development all the way through, and some very satisfying sounds. An outstanding listen!

Like video game light jazz meets the popcorn man. I dig the lightness, the sense of humor over it all, the catchy quality...

So Cool!
This is really nice use of the lo-fi nature of TAL...not trying to hide behind it's grungy nature, but really hanging it out there with the funky drumming. Too much fun!
