Description
Llarion (Phil Traynor) has made a really nice "Blues In G" mp3 available to jam to, so I'm taking full advantage. He did the drums, bass, and rhythm guitars, and I did the clean channel strat riffs in the center.

If anyone else wants to have a go at Phil's backer, here is the url to the forum thread, where he posts the link to the file:

Somethin' different
I love the walking bass! Wow. It's so nice to hear a walking bass, because it lends the piece a jazz feel. I adore 12-Bar blues, but it's always really nice to hear something different in the blues genre. This is really well done. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Nice Blues
I really like the guitar and the mix is right on. The backing band... bass and drums are very nice. That bass is all over the place. Enjoyed very much.

Love the sound you guys are getting on this one. The backing is steady, clean and gives plenty of scope for playing over the top. Love the sound of the strat and you pick up on the flowing style of the backing. I enjoyed this one!

Fingersnappin' blues
Not a big blues fan, but I dig it. Kind of a tricky chord progression. A little jazzy. I admire anyone who can play a clean Strat and get some feeling out of it. Nice work, Dave and Phil.

Nice and unhurried strat lines
I like the way you let some of the notes just glide on over the next measure, where they continue to snuggle in nicely with the next chord in line. Overall a refreshingly interesting bit of music, great pairing!

Great sounds and soloing - I envy you the guitar skills - mine are "faked" or synthed in my pieces and I can never get quite the live feel and intonations. You have a good feel for the blues...look forward to more!

This upbeat blues definitely has a jazz "tinge" that I like. The backing instruments support the jamming guitar and don't get in the way. The guitar sounds like "one take".

Real Funky Guitar. Blues is prevalent and jumping. That country twang is cooking. Mix it up baby. Down home playing is always from the soul the drums are consistent and your guitar is beginning to talk. Fine

What a great track...
...to play around with. There are endless possibilities for other instruments to just take off and make this into countless other things. What a great idea. Very solid recording that is clean and clearly presented. (I don't know if my piano playing is up to this style, but it might be fun to try it out one of these days.
