Lyrics
There was a young actress with a fire inside. She left home dreaming of the life that she's find. She left the glory of an innocent child, to go look for it beneath the Hollywood lights.

She went out looking for the glittering jewels. She left a family that provided her with nothing but rules. She became a true beleiver in the fashionable fools who taught her how to deceive and gave her all of the tools.

But the fire that once glowed deep in her soul faded quickly to ashes on a pile of coal. She went looking for love and found nothing but gold. She shivered and wondered how she'd gotten so cold.

She went and looked for it between the sheets of a bed. She tried taking things to ease the pain in her head. But one day she decided she would rather be dead then to go on living, she was hanging by a thread.

She had one more chance she said, "it's silly I know, but I must see my family before I go. They'll hate me yes because I treated them so. But I'll beg their forgiveness with all of my soul."

She fell to her knees so ashamed of herself. She said, "mother, father, O I need your help. I went looking for heaven and I found hell. I deeply regret I never treated you well.

Now that's all she said, she was turning to go when she felt a soft touch she used to know. She was lovingly taken by her mother's embrace. She was saved by the smile on her father's face.

This is great
It makes a real change to hear someone sing just
accompanied by a guitar. And you have a great voice. You
sing really well. Awesome!!

You're two for two
Now I have to listen to the rest of your songs... poor me!

Excellent production and I would consider the mix pretty
close to perfect. It is so refreshing to hear pure music that
is not over-produced. You sound very polished- do you
play out?

Sounds real nice
I like the tune, wish you had the lyrics. This kind of song
is a must for lyrics I think. You sing very nice, and the
guitar stuff sound good too.

Thanks for sharing

Nice ballad
Classic folk storytelling ballad. Very nicely recorded, great
guitar sound and vocal quality. Redemption, now that's
something we all need. I really like just this bare bones
coffee house feel. I wouldn't add anything, but if you're
considering adding things, the only thing I can think is: an
instrument solo after "soul," and if you're thinking of new
instruments: a stand up bass, perhaps some hand
percussion, or a cello. Consider a coda with heavier
playing at the end, instead of the sudden stop, to mark
the drama, like Dave Van Ronk might do.

nice playing.
The playing is lovely, and the track is nicely produced.
What did you use? You don't list any software or hardware
setup. I like the intimate quality of the vocals. I have to
say, though, that I found the lyrics a bit trite.
