Description
I have a list of ongoing projects (partial) on my project site, in various stages of completion. This song progression was roughed out and sitting on the site's list, and had been for a couple years. Along came my dear friend Laurie Holden, and grabbed it up. She said she liked it and had some lyrics written that she thought fit. So she came up with this vocal melody and auditioned. I immediately loved it! What a beautiful girl she is with a beautiful voice! So we worked on it a bit and here is the finished product! I knew I was listing these tracks on my site for a reason. She just happened to browse to it one day and the rest as they say is history. I wrote and performed all of the music. Laurie wrote and performed all of the vocals and lyrics. A much enjoyed co-authoring!

Lyrics
It all started with a space on the couch
A place in the world where one could check out
Where all the curious eyes
Could not experience pain without end
Guilty of...
Depression, aggression, obsession, denial
The final end
Don't pretend
Don't pretend
Well, from the couch there was a move to the chair
A desolate and unnerving stare
Through the sliding glass panes of our lives
Images reflect one's own strife
Guilty of...
Depression, aggression, obsession, denial
The final end
Don't pretend
Don't pretend
-bridge-
How many minutes in an hour?
Oh How many minutes in a day?
How many in a year?
How many lives are wasting away?
Oh Could it be enough power
To chase the night away?
There were the moments of laughter and joy
Photo smiles were not a toy
Those were the days that cruised by like the wind
Images could not be bent
Guilty of...
Depression, aggression, obsession, denial
The final end
Don't pretend
Don't pretend
A place in the world where one could check out
Where all the curious eyes
Could not experience pain without end
Guilty of...
Depression, aggression, obsession, denial
The final end
Don't pretend
Don't pretend
Well, from the couch there was a move to the chair
A desolate and unnerving stare
Through the sliding glass panes of our lives
Images reflect one's own strife
Guilty of...
Depression, aggression, obsession, denial
The final end
Don't pretend
Don't pretend
