Quite some time ago ... Blaine Transue did a little blues jam .... I did a little jam of my own called Crushed Angel with it ... I was feeling a little nostalgic and melancholy tonight and thought I might just like to sing it again ... this is just a simple one take version ... I just like the tune .... so here it is (warts and all) ....

You've never heard the phrase "Warts and All"?

Q. ‘Warts and All….How did this phrase originate?

A. Down through the centuries, portrait painters would often soften their subject’s facial features by removing blemishes , lines and wrinkles from their work, and the end result would most definitely be flattering. But when Oliver Cromwell himself commissioned Sir Peter Lely to paint his portrait, he instructed the artist; ‘I desire you would use all your skill to paint my picture truly like me, and not flatter me at all, but remark all these roughness, pimples warts and everything as you see me.’ The finished portrait clearly shows a large wart, just below Cromwell’s lower lip. So the phrase means that to ask for something ‘warts and all’ is to require that no attempt be made to cover up any defects or hide unsavoury details

Unfortunately I still feel a little too naked without my REVERB ! So it will likely always be a mainstay in anything I record .... well at least until I get a better handle on using other FX and mixing tools ..... I really have not played around much with the settings ... want to try and get some DirectX stuff ... but most of it seems to be VST and doesn't jive with my (windoze) environment .... one of these days I will actually USE that MAC I have to mix music ! Still a little mac-shy ....

... yeah I just loved Blaine's middle of the night jam the first time I heard it .... and just felt like jamming over it again .... like I said above .. Blues rebirthed
Alannah, love this new version of our old song. Astounding how your beautiful voice makes my sub par guitar sound, well...good, actually. You keep doing this, I may have to play you something else in the middle of the night. Got my studio back...got scotch, now just need to drum up a little talent and some nerve!
