Summer Break

Description
This thing came about after getting stuck with another song in the works. I needed a break and to do something different and simple. It doesn't fit in a genre (although there might be some disco in there) and is probably irritating to some. But I had fun doing it, and it's a homage to summer.

Yes!
Very like Lemon Jelly, if you don't mind the comparison. Absolutely delightful sound! Very summery vibe and really well put together. I am jealous of your talent.

Nice one. :-)

A great time...
It's the middle of winter here in Australia and we have had water restrictions for so long now that the sound of the sprinkler seemed almost nostalgic :-) Like the synth sounds and the way you incorporated the happy human sounds into the mix. Sounds like people are having a great time. Enjoyed. Regards, Peter.

Hi aRcTip....
This is a wonderful piece of summer trippy music. I love it. The drumming, to me, makes the piece that bit 'summery'. No irritation here for me.

The melodic synth sound was to die for. Excellent choice of instruments.

Loved the sprinkler at the end. A Real nice touch.

Take care.

Great summer music
Which I, too, am pretty jealous of, since I have a series going here at MJ with one summer song per year (since Summer 07) in which this would suit real nice. Can't say I heard the disco reference but downtempo or possibly easy-listening would set the listener in the right mood perhaps. If I had a "hängmatta" in my little garden I would go there and put this on repeat... Thanks.

Excellent!
This feels like the smooth, fruity, light smoothie I just enjoyed on the boardwalk, sitting next to ocean while listening to the mesmerizing sound of the peaceful waves playing in the sunlight...

So glad you joined MJ - hope you will keep creating and posting sunny, mellow tracks like this one. Perfectly enjoyable, unusual enough for repeated listen and surprisingly accomplished after reading your short bio! The sprinkler is a fun touch.

My turn for a comparison now - how about 'Air' or 'Lemongrass'?

so glad you got into this music making. Really - writers write what they know. You do the same with sound. Love the found sound quality and crafty selection of beats. We should collaborate on something. anytime you 'hear' a place for sax in your life, let me know.

wow
I love this; you have some great ideas and they are still catchy and accessible (at least to me). this is reminscent of a more upbeat Boards of Canada. very cool track, can't wait for the next.

I love the way you develop the tune. The sound effects are just right. Very nice sound to the synth and to the drums - there's a softness to them that works well for this tune. Much enjoyed!

Sweet.
Your choice and incorporation of sounds and voices is perfect for the summery mood. I could hear a vocal over this, as well. Thanks.

Th theme works well here. A reflective moment lying in the grass on a planet somewhere out there. Loved the instrumentation and the vibe. Thanks for posting.

Beautiful
and groovy. All those warm synths are paced so well, and I loved that that sprinkler sounded like a chittering insect at first! Just lovely work.
