Description

This is A Casserole of Nonsense with vocals. It's based on my favourite Bilko episode where Sarge can't sleep because of all the rotten things he's been doing to his platoon. There's a brilliant adlibbed speech where Phil Silvers speaks passionately about Freud and Spinoza. The bit with Sigmund doing card tricks was my idea.

The first thing
... on my mind is Phil Silvers, when it comes to comedy at least. He used the phrase "bedlam of guilt" at least once, possibly twice in the show, and it stuck in my mind. I wanted to write a whole song based on it, and then realised that the backing track for this tune (formerly known as "A Casserole of Nonsense") would fit the bill nicely. Ta for your kind words.

	Twiddle dee dee I took a twiddling lesson from Matt Hammond's on - line service and you can hear the results.
